NBA Best Bets: Basketball Predictions to Consider on DraftKings Sportsbook for September 18

Julian Edlow gives his best bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Friday’s NBA betting card.

Just a one-game card in the NBA on Friday, as the Nuggets and Lakers get underway in the Western Conference Finals. Here’s what jumps out to me on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Lakers

Rajon Rondo Points, Rebounds & Assists: OVER 19.5

Rondo is questionable for this game with back spasms, which is part of the reason I struggle to pick a side ATS until we get his official status. Rondo has been massive for the Lakers since returning for the Houston series, so if he plays with no restrictions, I like locking in his three-way prop. Rondo had to knock some rust off in his first game since March in Game 1, then he played just 21 minutes in Game 5; but if we key in on the three games in which he played what I believe to be his standard role moving forward, Rondo was the Lakers’ third-best player. He topped this number easily in all three contests finishing with the following lines: 10-9-3 in 29 minutes, 21-9-2 in 30 minutes and 11-8-10 in 29 minutes.

Gary Harris Points: OVER 9.5 (-134)

Similar to Rondo, Harris’ return during the postseason has been crucial to Denver’s success. Harris played huge minutes in the series against the Clippers, and should be called upon to do the same here as one of the bodies the Nuggets will throw at LeBron James. Harris scored in double figures in five of the last six games in the Clippers’ series, including attempting 11 field goals in both Game 6 and 7 (playing 79 total minutes). He scored 16 and 14 points in those games — his best two outings of the playoffs. In three regular season matchups against the Lakers, Harris averaged 13.7 points, attempting over 10 shots per game. This number feels a little light for Harris after working his way fully back into the rotation.

Top Point Scorer: Jamal Murray (+500)

There’s not a ton of analysis that goes into this one, but with LeBron and AD eating up a lot of the odds to be the game’s top scorer, we get a pretty solid price on Murray. This is just riding the hot hand, as Murray dropped 40 in Game 7 against the Clippers. It was his fifth game in the playoffs with 36 or more points, which would likely get the job done here — and two of those games were 50. Bet this one small, but +500 is a good price for the groove Murray’s in.
