The play-in round of the LoL Worlds resumes on Saturday with another packed schedule. We break down DraftKings’ main slate for the tournament, with picks to consider from each position.
Tactical started his Worlds campaign in fantastic fashion. He had a combined KDA of 5/2/14 in a tough matchup against Mad Lions. That performance, especially in a winning cause, will give him so much confidence going into this game. His current KDA of 9.5 will definitely come down as the Worlds progress, but there is still enough value in this selection.
Other to consider: Carzzy ($11,700)
The games come rapidly for Mad Lions in the early stages of this play-in. The team will play its third game on Saturday, against SuperMassive Esports, an opposition Mad Lions is expected to dominate. Orome had four kills, five deaths and 10 assists in the opening two games on Friday. Mad Lions lost one of those. He should pick up his intensity a lot more on Saturday.
Other to consider: Boss ($6,800)
Although his name could have be simpler, his style of play is clean and efficient. Unicorns of Love have used just five players through the entirety of this calendar year. AHaHaCiK has the joint-highest kill rate on UoL, with 4.27 kills, 2.22 deaths and 8.36 assists, giving him a KDA of 5.7. Of the 55 games this year, UoL has won a stunning 49 of them!
Others to consider: Broxah ($7,000)
Jensen was steady in the middle lane against Mad Lions on Friday. He had five kills and nine assists, but was also killed three times, which lowered his KDA significantly. From a fantasy perspective, he is additionally important because of the value he generates with his creep score. He had a CS of 287 on Friday, which could improve deeper into this play-in stage.
Others to consider: Humanoid ($7,600)
For the second-straight day, my pick for bot laner is Carzzy. He impressed again to open the Worlds, but couldn’t create enough depth to win engagements against Liquid. That point aside, he had a solid day with an average of 3.5 kills and 7.0 assists per game. His KDA of 3.5 is the highest for Mad Lions in this tournament, so far.
Others to consider: Gadget ($7,600)
Santas was absolutely terrific in his support of Gadget in the LCL back home. He generated an average of 11.36 assists per game, unmatched and unparalleled in the league. In fact, he had the best KDA on UoL (7.99) because he was also able to produce 1.4 kills and just 1.6 deaths per map.
Mad Lions ($5,200)
PSG Talon ($4,600) created enough chaos on the opening day with two straight wins. I’d want to avoid picking a team in that matchup against Unicorns of Love ($5,000). Mad Lions is still one of the best teams in this play-in stage. That opening loss to Liquid would have hurt. There could be a much steadier display on Saturday.
