The play-in stage of the 2020 World Championship concludes on Wednesday with the qualifying round. Unicorns of Love will face SuperMassive Esports, while LGD Gaming will seek continued momentum against Legacy Esports. Here is a primer of the players to consider from the qualifying round for DraftKings’ slate on Wednesday.
Kramer will stay as my Captain for the second day running. He has improved his efficiency significantly, which has had a direct impact on the results for LGD Gaming. In fact, the team has been in tearaway form after a poor start. Kramer now has 3.75 kills and 5.38 assists per game. Impressively, he has just 1.25 deaths per map in this tournament.
Others to consider: Xiye ($11,100)
BOSS has been terrific in the top lane at this event. It’s natural for a top laner to average 2.8 deaths per game because teams target this lane with 1-on-2 matchups to gain the kill. However, he has definitely got his own back with 3.6 kills per game. That has allowed the top lane to stay relatively free of incident, allowing UoL some freedom in mid and bot.
Others to consider: Armut ($6,200)
It all comes down to this game for Unicorns of Love. The team has enjoyed quite a solid run to this stage, led by some steady returns in the jungle by AHaHaCiK. He has averaged six assists per game, which has had a major impact on UoL’s flanking game. He will need to decrease his death rate to generate additional value.
Others to consider: Peanut ($7,000)
Xiye has also had a stunning turnaround after a slow start. This momentum should leave LGD Gaming too far ahead. Xiye has jointly led his team in kills, averaging 3.75 per game. He also has the highest kill participation on his team because he has added 7 assists to his steady kill output. He even has a creep score of 287.
Others to consider: Nomanz ($7,200)
SuperMassive Esports is coming into this game on the back of a hard-fought 3-2 win over Mad Lions on Tuesday. That might leave the gates open. Gadget is well-positioned to capitalize on that, especially after a few days to rest and refresh. He has maintained a kill participation of close to 10 right through this tournament.
Others to consider: Zeitnot ($7,200)
If you’re looking for at least one player from SuperMassive, SnowFlower is not a bad choice. He has a strong combination of inexpensive price and solid stats so far. He has racked up an average of 7.78 assists per game and his sample size of nine maps isn’t small either.
Unicorns of Love ($5,200)
If you have the budget, then LGD Gaming ($5,600) is the obvious target because of the momentum and confidence the team has achieved. However, as a bargain purchase, UoL from the CIS could be a better value choice. Every player on the team’s roster has a KDA of over 2.5 at this event as well.
