Dustin Johnson earned his first FedExCup with a victory at the TOUR Championship at East Lake to close out the 2019-20 season. Johnson entered the tournament on top thanks to the FedExCup format and he finished on top, finishing three strokes ahead of Justin Thomas and Xander Schauffele.

The PGA TOUR wastes no time in beginning its 2020-21 season, heading West to the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, California for the Safeway Open. Originally called the Frys.com Open, the PGA TOUR has been holding this event at Silverado every fall since 2014. Some big names will not be hitting the links this week coming off the Friday-Monday TOUR Championship with just one week to go until the rescheduled U.S. Open at Winged Foot. However, the field does boast well-known names such as Phil Mickelson ($10,600), Sergio Garcia ($9,900) and Jordan Spieth ($9,800). Defending champion Cameron Champ will not be in Napa, but two-time winner Brendan Steele (2016. 2017; $10,000) and 2018 winner Kevin Tway ($6,600) will be in the field.
