Four games across the LCK and the LPL constitute DraftKings’ main League of Legends slate on Thursday. Here is a look at some strategies and players to consider for your roster from the four-game slate.

Captain
Ghost ($12,000 CP)
This position comes down to two decisions. One, is the most expensive player on this slate worth his cost? That’s a resounding yes. Two, who would be a better Captain between Ghost and ShowMaker ($7,800)? My first instinct is ShowMaker, but I’d want two bot laners on my roster with Team WE in action, too. Therefore, Ghost would be my pick for Captain. It’s mostly a strategic decision, more so than one based purely on form.
Others to consider: ShowMaker ($11,700 CP)
Top
Xiaohu ($6,400)
Xiaohu’s kill proficiency has been impressive. He has managed three kills per game so far this season, along with a stunning 8.2 assists. A kill participation of over 11 for a top laner is a potential game-changer for your roster. He also has a KDA of 6.22 and a creep score of 282.2 — a fantastic indicator of his recent form.
Others to consider: Breathe ($6,600)
Jungler
Clid ($6,400)
I wouldn’t make a sacrifice for any position just yet. Clid has enjoyed steady returns this season: 2 kills, 2 deaths, 6 assists and a KDA of 4. T1’s excellence will be a factor in this game, but Clid has enough experience and consistency to provide a strong return on a decent investment of $6.4K.
Others to consider: Wei ($7,000)
Mid
ShowMaker ($7,800)
Although the season is still relatively young, ShowMaker has one of the best KDAs in the LCK (10.4). This has been built on a kill participation rate of over 10 (4 kills and 6.4 assists) with just one death per map. He has been one of the best middle laners in the LCK for a while now, often using a wide array of champions to create lane penetration in a league that can be more passive than the LPL.
Others to consider: Shanks ($7,600)
ADC
Jiumeng ($7,800)
Jiumeng has been simply terrific in the early season. He is currently fourth in the LPL in kills per game (5.25). He has also chipped in with 4.88 assists per map with a creep score per minute of 9.21. Team WE has a distinct advantage against ThunderTalk in this matchup, which will be an additional factor to justify Jiumeng’s inclusion.
Others to consider: Gala ($7,600)
Support
Life ($4,800)
Your average salary remaining per player after the above selections will be $4.8K, which is not a bad position to be in considering the presence of Gen.G on this slate. Life has done his job admirably this season, averaging 8.5 assists with a KDA of 5.29. He likely won’t deviate too much from these returns on Thursday.
Team
Gen.G ($4,800)
Gen.G has started the LCK this season with two consecutive straight-maps wins. The team has always been reliable in the lanes before moving to inhibitors and then on to the nexus. Very rarely would you see a baron stolen from Gen.G that turns around games. T1 ($5,000) will be extremely hard to breach, but Gen.G is worth the price.
