After a shocking defeat to Burnley at Anfield, Liverpool will be keen to return to the Premier League and make a statement on the road against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday. Here is a breakdown of the options for Captain and the flex positions of your DraftKings roster for this soccer showdown.

Captain
Harry Kane ($15,300 CP)
From an offensive perspective, there is no one that has created more fantasy value than Kane this season. He is second in the EPL in goals scored (12) and leading the Premier League in assists (11). That proficiency is extremely hard to find over a sustained period of time. He has the highest fantasy output on this slate with 20.3 DKFP per game, making this decision a simple one.
Others to consider: Mohamed Salah ($14,400 CP)
High-priced FLEX Options
Mohamed Salah ($9,600)
I’m slightly surprised Salah’s price is as low as $9.6K. He tops the list of high-priced assets because he should be immediately put into your lineups. He is leading the Premier League in goals scored (13) on a team-leading 59 shots taken. He has also chipped in with three assists, making him a fairly straightforward fantasy inclusion.
Son Heung-Min ($10,400)
Here is where roster construction can get tricky. Son has been Jose Mourinho’s most pivotal offensive weapon in the final third because of his conversion rate. He has scored 12 goals with just 34 shots taken — a rate of 35.3%. By comparison, Kane has scored 12 goals with 69 shots taken — a rate of 17.4%. Son has also contributed with six assists this season.
Sadio Mane ($10,000)
Mane is the quintessential offensive runner in the Premier League, a little like Dirk Kuyt for Liverpool all those years ago in terms of playing style. Here’s why. Offensively, he has scored six goals on 52 shots taken, second for Liverpool in both those metrics. He also races back to contribute defensively, as he has made 30 tackles and won 22 aerial battles, also good for second on Liverpool in those metrics.
Others to consider: Andrew Robertson ($8,800)
Value FLEX Options
Trent Alexander-Arnold ($8,400)
It’s a toss-up between Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson ($8,800). Alexander-Arnold will stay on the right wing, while Robertson will chip in offensively from the left flank. Both of them will be tasked with standing over most dead-ball plays. I’ve gone for Alexander-Arnold because of his lower price and exceptional free-kick ability from just outside the box.
Roberto Firmino ($7,800)
There might be a tinge of regret from manager Jurgen Klopp that he started both Salah and Firmino from the bench in that 1-0 loss to Burnley at home. He is unlikely to keep his best strikers on a leash for too many more games. Firmino has scored five goals on 46 shots taken, third for Liverpool in both metrics behind only Salah and Mane. He is currently averaging 9.4 DKFP per game.
Others to consider: Hugo Lloris ($5,600)
