It’s Tuesday, and we’ve got a short, yet fun five-game NBA slate to watch. With some exciting teams like the Lakers, Nets and Clippers in action, let’s survey for some player props, totals and sides to take on DraftKings Sportsbook. You can follow me on Twitter (@KennyDucey) for any late adds.
Here’s what jumps out to me on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Utah Jazz vs. Brooklyn Nets:
Jazz -4.5 (-112)
This line is quickly getting out of control, but I still like it in a game where the Jazz should roll over the Nets quite easily. Though they came out of the gates hot, Brooklyn’s still trying to figure everything out on both ends of the floor. The loss of Spencer Dinwiddie coupled with turnover in the starting lineup has hurt the Nets defensively, and the team has allowed a whopping 126 points on average over the last three games. On offense, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are going through a silent fight over the ball, one where Kyrie is winning and taking bad shots while Durant’s being stopped in the process of hot shooting nights. If that summary of their season wasn’t bad enough, the Nets are now going to be without Durant for seven days due to a possible COVID-19 exposure. It’s going to take some time for Brooklyn to get right, and the Jazz, coming in off big wins over the Spurs and Clippers, should stomp.
San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Clippers:
Clippers First Half -5.5 (-112)
Though I think this should be anther easy one for the Clippers, I’m not in love with the full-game spread which is nearing 10 points. This should be a much better spot when you consider the trends. Los Angeles ranks eighth in scoring margin in the first half, leading by an average of roughly three points per game, while San Antonio (-1.8) sits 19th. Over the last three games, this deficit becomes even greater, with the Clippers’ 20-point halftime lead in their last game boosting their three-game average differential to +10, while the Spurs’ rests around eight points. Betting on the first half always gives you the opportunity to get fresh legs and a lot of minutes out of both starting lineups, where the Clippers have a decided advantage. I like the Clippers all sorts of ways here, but I think the first half should be the most comfortable.

Chicago Bulls at Portland Trail Blazers:
Bulls +9.5 (-110)
Are the Bulls peaking? Chicago has now won three of four, including an impressive win over the Doncic-less Mavericks, and Bulls fans are feeling good about the young pieces in place there. While Dallas looked totally lost without Doncic on offense, I still thought there was reason to be excited on the offensive end for Chicago with the stellar performances of Zach LaVine and Coby White. In order to keep things close against the Trail Blazers, who have one of the more prolific offenses in basketball, you need scorers — and I think the Bulls have the necessary guys to get buckets. It helps that Portland’s defense is the fourth-worst in basketball, allowing over 114 points per 100 possessions. Taking a look at the spread, 9.5 points is a bit ballooned to me, especially when you consider the Blazers are 1-3 against the spread this season. Expect another strong game from the young Bulls, and another failed cover by CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard.
