Round 2 Recap — Friday
Harris English leads after second round of Sentry Tournament of Champions
The second round of the Sentry Tournament of Champions is officially in the books, and English ($8,700) will have the lead when the third round gets underway on Saturday. He fired a six-under-par 67 on Friday, bringing his score to 14-under-par for the tournament. That gives him a two-shot lead over a group of four players tied for second. That ranked just 19th in terms of average ownership in the field. English is now listed at +500 to win the tournament on DraftKings Sportsbook, which is tied with Justin Thomas ($10,700) for the shortest odds. — Matt LaMarca
Collin Morakawa goes low Friday at Sentry Tournament of Champions
Morikawa ($8,800) was solid on Thursday, finishing with a four-under-par 69, but that put him four shots behind the leaders. He managed to close the gap on Friday by shooting the best round on the golf course. He shot a score of eight-under-par 65, which moved him to 12-under-par for the tournament. Harris English wins Sentry Tournament of Champions
English ($8,700; 152.5 DKFP) outlasted Joaqin Niemann ($8,300; 141.5 DKFP) in a playoff to take home the Sentry Tournament of Champions this Sunday with a final score of -25. Then he posted two rounds of 67 before catching fire on Sunday and shooting a 64 to force a playoff with eventual winner Harris English ($8,700: 152.5 DKFP). Niemann pared the first hole on Sunday then shot a bogey-free round with nine birdies. He garnered a 20.9% ownership percentage in the $600K Season Tee Off tournament on Draftkings and was oh so close to notching his second-career PGA Tour win. — Stan Son
