Matt LaMarca gives his top lineup advice at each position for Friday’s fantasy basketball slate on DraftKings, which starts at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Friday’s NBA slate features 11 games, and the action on DraftKings gets underway at 7:00 p.m. ET. Let’s dive into some of the top plays, strategies, and injuries to monitor heading into lineup lock on DraftKings.

Point Guard

Worth Paying Up For: Russell Westbrook, Washington Wizards vs. New York Knicks ($9,000)

This is a close call between Westbrook and Luka Doncic ($10,900), but I’ll give the slightest of edges to Westbrook. The Wizards are going to be without Bradley Beal vs. the Knicks, and Westbrook has the potential to carry a massive workload in his absence. He’s increased his usage rate by 9.2 percentage points with Beal off the court this season, resulting in an average of 1.50 DKFP per minute.

Best Bang For Your Buck: Dejounte Murray, San Antonio Spurs @ Atlanta Hawks ($6,800)

Murray is a bit pricier than the typical “value” option, but he’s undoubtedly one of the best options at the position. He’s averaged 1.17 DKFP per minute over the past month, and he’s increased his usage rate recently with LaMarcus Aldridge out of the lineup. He also has one of the best matchups at the position vs. Trae Young, who has been the worst defensive PG in the league per ESPN’s Defensive Real Plus/Minus.

Shooting Guard

Worth Paying Up For: Donovan Mitchell, Utah Jazz vs. Milwaukee Bucks ($8,200)

It’s very tough to look past Mitchell on today’s slate. Not only does Utah own the top implied team total on the slate, but they will also be without Mike Conley for the third straight game. Unsurprisingly, Mitchell has thrived in his first two games without Conley, scoring 57.75 and 62.5 DKFP. He’s handed out at least nine assists in both contests and adding that upside as a distributor to his ability as a scorer is tantalizing.

Best Bang For Your Buck: Garrett Temple, Chicago Bulls vs. New Orleans Pelicans ($4,200)

Finding value on this slate is a bit challenging, but Temple is one of the exceptions. He’s coming off 35.5 minutes in the Bulls’ last contest, and he’s a good bet to eclipse 30 minutes again today. That’s a lot of playing time for someone with such a minimal salary. Temple hasn’t been the best on a per-minute basis this season – he’s averaged 0.73 DKFP per minute over the past month – but he’s not the worst, either.

Small Forward

Worth Paying Up For: Jaylen Brown, Boston Celtics vs. Detroit Pistons ($7,800)

Brown has been arguably the Celtics’ best player this season, at least from a fantasy perspective. He’s averaged 1.28 DKFP per minute this season, which is the best mark on the squad. He has a chance to outperform that number tonight vs. the Pistons. The Celtics are expected to be without both Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart, and the Pistons rank merely 26th in defensive efficiency.

Best Bang For Your Buck: John Konchar, Memphis Grizzlies @ Los Angeles Lakers ($3,000)

Konchar is a very interesting option at the absolute minimum on Friday. He’s been effective when on the court this season, averaging 0.94 DKFP per minute, and he has a chance to see a few additional minutes tonight. Brandon Clarke, Jordan Bone, and De’Anthony Melton have all been ruled out, which leaves the Grizzlies without three rotation players. If Konchar can see around 20 minutes, he has a chance to provide excellent value.

Power Forward

Worth Paying Up For: Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics vs. Detroit Pistons ($8,800)

Tatum is another player who should benefit from the Celtics’ current injury situation. He’s increased his usage rate by a team-high 3.5 percentage points with Smart and Walker off the court this season, and he’s also seen the largest bump as a distributor. He’s averaged a stout 1.45 DKFP per minute in that situation, which gives him one of the highest ceilings on the slate in a juicy matchup.

Best Bang For Your Buck: Danilo Gallinari, Atlanta Hawks vs. San Antonio Spurs ($4,800)

Gallinari started and played 30.1 minutes in the Hawks’ last contest, which bodes well for his fantasy stock moving forward. Gallo has always been an excellent producer on a per-minute basis, and he’s averaged 0.91 DKFP per minute this season. He disappointed a bit in his first start, but he should be able to improve on his production vs. the Spurs.

Center

Worth Paying Up For: Nikola Vucevic, Orlando Magic @ Sacramento Kings ($9,400)

Vucevic is in this spot almost every time he’s on the slate, and he continues to come through for us. He finished with 50.25 DKFP last night vs. the Warriors, and he’s eclipsed the 50-point threshold in four of his past five games. That makes him underpriced at $9,400.

He’s also in an elite spot tonight vs. the Kings. They’ve been a disaster defensively this season – they rank dead-last in defensive efficiency – and the Magic have the potential to be extremely shorthanded. Evan Fournier and Cole Anthony both missed yesterday’s matchup vs. the Warriors, and Frank Mason left that game early with an injury. The Magic were already playing without Aaron Gordon, Markelle Fultz, and Michael Carter-Williams, so there’s a chance that Vucevic is literally the last man standing vs. the Kings.

Best Bang For Your Buck: Isaiah Stewart, Detroit Pistons @ Boston Celtics ($3,100)

Stewart is another player that was listed here yesterday, and that was before Mason Plumlee was ruled out with an injury. Stewart thrived in place of Plumlee on Thursday, finishing with 33.25 DKFP over 31.2 minutes, and Plumlee has already been ruled out for tonight’s matchup vs. the Celtics. Expect Stewart to draw another start, and he's close to a must-play at his current salary.

Overall Lineup Strategy

We obviously have tons of players to choose from on an 11-game slate, and you can go in a few different directions with your lineup. There’s definitely enough value that you could go stars-and-scrubs. Guys like Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo ($10,800), Nikola Jokic ($10,700), and LeBron James ($10,100) always have the potential to go nuclear.

However, I think my preferred strategy is to grab a bunch of players in that next tier down. Vucevic, Tatum, and Mitchell all stand out as underpriced, and they have the ceiling to match those top-tier guys at a discount. Locking those three players in with Stewart leaves you an average of more than $5,100 for your remaining roster spots. That should be very doable.
