NBA Best Bets: Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds to Consider on DraftKings Sportsbook for February 15

Julian Edlow gives his best bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Monday’s NBA betting card.

NBA: Toronto Raptors at Golden State Warriors Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

The NBA is the Wild West right now given COVID-19 and the league’s health protocols, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t edges to be had. We sit at 35-29 on the season for article plays and look to improve on Monday. I’m not in love with this betting card, partially because there are so many big names in question. Maybe this offers us an edge closer to tipoff in some games, but for now, I’ll be sticking to a couple of simple plays.

Follow along on Twitter — @julianedlowfor what we hope to be another great season, as some plays jump out late due to news, particularly in the player prop market. Here’s what jumps out to me on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors: GSW 1H -5 (-120)

The Cavs will be putting Andre Drummond on the shelf until they’re able to deal him, opening the door for some of the younger pieces to get minutes and develop. It’s the right move for Cleveland in the long-term, but it also leaves them in a tough spot on the second night of a back-to-back. The Warriors are coming off a blowout loss in a national TV game on Saturday night against the Nets, and this sets up the perfect bounce-back spot at home. Despite both teams hovering right around .500 against the first-half spread this season, the trends strongly point to Golden State in this spot. The home/road splits tell a completely different story for each team — the Cavs are 4-8 ATS in the first half on the road, while the Dubs are 10-4 ATS in the first half at home. This is a strong spot for the Warriors to get off to a quick start.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors: Draymond Green OVER 8.5 assists (-110)

Green’s been playing PG for the Warriors, who need Stephen Curry playing off the ball now more than ever. With so much less scoring in the lineup, Steph needs to put up big numbers offensively, which has led to Draymond being even more of a facilitator. He’s gone for 10-plus assists in five of his past six games, averaging 11.7 dimes per contest during that span. A helpless Cavs squad missing a big piece of its rim protection should struggle to slow Golden State’s offense.

Hopefully, we’ll get some news that allows us to add another play for Monday.
