We wrap up another work week with a fun Friday slate of Madden sims on the DraftKings Dream Stream with six games on tap throughout the afternoon and evening. The featured three-game classic slate kicks off when the New England Patriots visit the Cleveland Browns at 6:00 p.m. ET. After that contest, the Chicago Bears will take on the Las Vegas Raiders at 8:00 p.m. ET in primetime as the two teams meet for the fifth time in these sims. We close out the day with a “Madden After Dark” matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and the Miami Dolphins from virtual South Beach at 10:00 p.m. ET.
As in all these Madden sims, it’s important to know that each roster is not impacted by COVID-19 opt-outs, injuries, suspensions or illness and that the highest-rated options have been placed at the top of the depth charts. The roster for each team includes all player movement that occurred prior to Week 1 of this season and uses the Madden 21 ratings from Week 1 of this season.
For more details, you can find the game settings, depth charts, abilities and X-factors for each team in Madden 21 along with the upcoming schedule on the Madden Stream info page. There were a few tweaks to the X-factors and Superstars in the latest December update, so be sure to check the depth charts of each team.
Check out the daily DraftKings Madden Stream contests lobby with paid contests for real cash prizes now available alongside free contests. Each simulation will be played out computer vs. computer via an online Madden Stream using Madden 21. In this format, you can enjoy watching the game stream on the DraftKings YouTube channel, the DK Live app (download here) or right here in this post.
Mitchell Trubisky, Chicago Bears at Las Vegas Raiders, $7,400 — While the search for a QB solution in Chicago continues in real life, Trubisky keeps putting up good numbers in these sims. In Madden, he’s a very nice dual-threat producer averaging 190.2 passing yards and 68.5 rushing yards per sim while scoring a total of 73 touchdowns in 45 contests. He had three touchdowns and 29.36 DKFP against the Bengals on Wednesday in his most recent sim, and he has put up over 22 DKFP in five of his past seven sims. Trubisky had 31.38 DKFP in his recent matchup with the Raiders, throwing for 247 yards and a touchdown and adding 95 rushing yards and a second score. This will be the fifth time he and the Bears take on the Raiders in these sims, and he has over 16 DKFP in each of their previous meetings and an average of 24.0 DKFP per sim against Vegas. He checks in with the highest salary of the QBs on this slate, but he’s also the QB with the most upside and least risk due to his regular rushing production.
Other Options — Baker Mayfield ($7,000)
Cam Newton, New England Patriots at Cleveland Browns, $6,400 — Newton and the Patriots pulled out a 28-26 win in their previous matchup with the Browns, and they’ll look to get another win in the early game on this slate. Newton had 15.1 DKFP with 185 passing yards and two touchdowns in that contest and has been very solid lately with over 16 DKFP and multiple passing scores in six straight sims. He had a high-point of four touchdowns and 32.84 DKFP during that run against a tough Ravens defense, and he will look for similar success in another road matchup against an AFC North foe. Cam doesn’t run much in these sims compared to Trubisky, but he has picked up 13 rushing touchdowns in his 47 sims, so there’s a chance he adds extra production there in addition to his solid passing numbers. The Browns have been a very good matchup for opposing QBs, making Newton a very solid midrange value play if you can’t pay up for Trubisky.
Other Options — Derek Carr ($5,500)
Todd Gurley II, Atlanta Falcons at Miami Dolphins, $7,000 — Gurley is a key part of the Falcons’ offense and is in a great spot against the Dolphins. He tore them up for two touchdowns, 93 rushing yards, 51 receiving yards and 31.4 DKFP in their only previous meeting, taking care of all the offensive production in the Falcons’ 14-10 win. He typically gets a heavy workload of carries and is also very involved as a receiving option out of the backfield. He has averaged 4.5 catches for 39.5 receiving yards in addition to his 56.5 rushing yards per sim in Madden 21 and has scored a total of 34 touchdowns in 48 sims. He is one of the few RB1 options on this slate that is also the third-down back, and his regular workload makes him the best RB option on this slate by a wide margin.
Other Option — Matt Breida ($6,400)
Kareem Hunt, Cleveland Browns vs. New England Patriots, $4,900 — After Thursday night’s slate featured no timeshares in the backfield with value options, there’s a wealth of value plays at RB on this slate due to four teams splitting work in the backfield. Hunt has been timesharing with Nick Chubb ($5,800) in Madden 21 and has been very productive as Cleveland’s third-down option. Hunt had 16.8 DKFP with one of his seven Madden 21 touchdowns in his previous matchup with New England, finishing with five catches for 37 yards. The Patriots have a very good secondary, which often forces opposing QBs to check down to their RB options on shorter passes. Hunt has at least three catches in nine of his past 11 games, including that earlier matchup with New England, and he is now averaging 3.3 catches for 25.4 receiving yards while also chipping in 20.6 rushing yards per game.
Other Options — James White ($5,200), Jalen Richard ($4,700)
Allen Robinson II, Chicago Bears at Las Vegas Raiders, $5,900 — While there are some nice top-end options at WR on this slate, don’t overlook Robinson who comes in just under $6K but with great upside. He is definitely the No. 1 option in the Bears’ passing game in these sims, and he has averaged 3.8 catches for 55.8 receiving yards over his 44 games. He has had two big games in his four earlier matchups with Vegas, catching eight passes for 97 yards in their most recent meeting and going off for 40.2 DKFP on seven catches for 182 yards and two touchdowns in their first contest in Madden 21. He has at least three catches in seven straight sims and at least 11 DKFP in nine of his past 11 contests. His good volume and high ceiling make him a great option to stack with Trubisky.
Other Options — Julio Jones ($7,000), Odell Beckham Jr. ($6,000)
Tyrell Williams, Las Vegas Raiders vs. Chicago Bears, $5,700 — On the other side of the primetime matchup, Williams has had great totals against the Bears, with at least five catches in each game and an average of 28.7 DKFP per sim against Chicago. He went off for over 200 receiving yards and 52 DKFP in one of those matchups, so he definitely has a high ceiling in this rematch. Overall, he has been slightly less reliable than Robinson, though, and he was almost shut out in his most recent sim, getting just one catch for 2.5 DKFP. He should bounce back just fine, though, in this matchup, and he’s a great play at this salary.
Russell Gage, Atlanta Falcons at Miami Dolphins, $4,500 — Gage has been very productive as the Falcons’ WR3 in these sims and has at least three catches in six straight contests, resulting in four games over 14 DKFP. He is averaging 3.5 catches for 37.8 yards per sim and has scored 11 touchdowns as well. He had three catches against the Dolphins in their first meeting and will look for a similar workload with better results in this matchup with Miami. The Dolphins have struggled with WR options further down the depth chart due to their own lack of CB depth, so Gage should be in a matchup that tilts in his favor in this contest.
Other Options — Rashard Higgins ($5,000), Damiere Byrd ($4,200), Jakeem Grant ($3,900)
Devin Asiasi, New England Patriots at Cleveland Browns, $4,400 — The Patriots’ rookie TE has been on a touchdown rampage lately with five scores in his past three games and 10 in his past 10 sims, dating back to when he faced the Browns. In that contest, he finished with four catches for 56 yards and 15.6 DKFP. Over his 10 most recent sims, he has averaged 15.1 DKFP and has reached over 20 DKFP in each of his past three. He should be able to find enough space against the Browns’ struggling secondary to put up another big game, so I like him at this salary quite a bit. Don’t let his lack of production in the real world make you pass on him in Madden, where he has been a beast.
Other Options — Darren Waller ($5,400), Mike Gesicki ($5,000)
Hayden Hurst, Atlanta Falcons at Miami Dolphins, $3,900 — Hurst is a nice value at TE or in a flex spot since he gets a very reliable workload in Atlanta’s offense. He has averaged 4.2 catches per contest, which makes him a very solid PPR producer at this price. He had only three catches for 27 yards in his first meeting with Miami, but I think he’ll have a better game and remain a consistent option in his rematch.
Other Option — Austin Hooper ($4,100)
Patriots DST at Cleveland Browns, $3,200 — The Patriots have been excellent defensively in these sims with all their COVID-19 opt-outs and injured players back in place. They have forced 55 turnovers in 47 sims, including 15 in their past 10 contests. They had just 2.0 DKFP in their earlier meeting with the Browns, but they have posted double-digit DKFP in three of their past five contests and will look to keep rolling. The Browns just had a massive game from Odell Beckham Jr. ($6,000), but X-factor Superstar Stephon Gilmore should be able to handle him on the outside for long enough for the pass rush to harass Baker Mayfield into mistakes.
Falcons DST at Miami Dolphins, $3,000 — If you’re looking for a pivot play, Atlanta’s defense has been a solid option due mostly to its ability to pile up sacks. In 48 sims, the Falcons have totaled 95 sacks while forcing 28 turnovers. They have multiple sacks in four straight games and should be able to put pressure on Tua while limiting the Dolphins’ offense as they did in their earlier meeting.
