Baylor/Auburn Moneyline Parlay (-125)

A couple of spots I trust, but am a little shy to lay the points. Even though Baylor is favored by 5.5 and has won every game by more than six points this season, Texas should prove a tough road test, especially with Shaka Smart and some players back from COVID. That said, I trust Baylor over everyone in college hoops right now. The toughness of that backcourt, and ability to crash the glass should be enough to get by Texas, even if it winds up a close game. Auburn has been a covering machine recently, covering six in a row with Sharife Cooper in the lineup. But the Tigers haven’t been favored by more than three with Cooper on the floor, and have generally been a dog. They should handle Georgia at home, but I’m not messing with the number.

North Carolina at Clemson: UNC -2.5 (-112)

Clemson was one of the hotter teams in college hoops to start the season, and maybe that still has it overvalued. Like many teams in college hoops, the Tigers have had major road struggles, and do play at home in this game. But after starting the season 5-0 straight up and ATS, this team’s gone 2-7-1 ATS in its last 10 games. Meanwhile, the Tar Heels have been stringing together decent wins — three in a row, and six of their last seven, with an understandable loss to FSU in the middle. It hasn’t been the best year for UNC, but this team is better than its overall record. The Heels looked solid in the last two, covering against respectable Pitt and NC State squads.

Illinois at Indiana: ILL -2.5 (-112)

Both of these teams are off a massive win over Iowa, the difference being that Illinois can actually play at that level, while Indiana might’ve gotten an outlier win. We saw the Hoosiers were extremely overvalued the following game, losing outright as a five-point favorite over Rutgers. Prior to the Iowa victory, Indiana lost by 12 to Purdue as a four-point favorite. Maybe Indy just caught Iowa on the right night. We’ve seen Illinois struggle at times, as well, but it generally is able to shake out of it and finish games strong. The Illini have now covered two in a row since a two-game losing streak, making them 6-2 SU and ATS in the last eight. I’ll back the far superior team at a short number.
