The NBA is the Wild West right now given COVID-19 and the league’s health protocols, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t edges to be had. Generally, I’m giving out plays in a best bets article, and while I’ll still be doing so, I think it’s also helpful to share some numbers that help you conduct your own research and make your own plays. - These teams met on Jan. 2 in Atlanta — the Cavs won 96-91 as 5.5-point underdogs. The game stayed under the 229 total.
Detroit Pistons (8-22, 14-13-3 ATS) at Orlando Magic (13-18, 15-16 ATS)
- The Pistons are 2-14 straight up and 5-8-3 ATS on the road.
- The Magic are 8-8 straight up and ATS at home.
- The Pistons are 9-7 to the over on the road.
- The Magic are 6-10 to the over at home.
- Detroit has gone under in five of the last six.
- Orlando is 5-1 ATS in its last six.
- Orlando is 2-6 to the over in its last six.
- These teams met on Sunday in Orlando — the Magic won 105-96, covering the three-point spread. The total stayed under 210.5.
Sacramento Kings (12-18, 13-17 ATS) at Brooklyn Nets (20-12, 16-16 ATS)
- The Kings are 5-7 straight up and 7-5 ATS on the road.
- The Nets are 11-5 straight up and 8-8 ATS at home.
- The Kings are 7-5 to the over on the road.
