The Duke fade continues — and at just 3-11 ATS this season, why not?
The one thing I’ll say about the Blue Devils is that they’ve at least started winning at home. After two early season losses to Michigan State and Illinois, Duke is now 6-3 straight up in their own gym. But that doesn’t mean the wins have been convincing, going just 2-7 ATS. Notre Dame is nothing special, but certainly capable of stealing a game like this, already with three wins as a dog on the season. The Irish are 5-1 ATS in their last six overall, and 5-3 ATS on the road this season. This one should stay close, and hopefully we avoid a bad beat like the Georgia Tech game at Duke.
South Carolina has some impressive wins on the season, stealing one at Florida last week, but more often than not, its underachieved. The Gamecocks are 5-7 SU and ATS, losing three of the last four games they’ve been favored in outright. Despite being at home, this doesn’t feel like a spot to right the ship, with Alabama coming in off a tough loss. The Tide trailed at Missouri by more than 20 on Saturday, and got within one-point late before falling. Alabama was potentially in the mix for the last one-seed prior to that loss, and I’d expect a strong bounce-back here. This team is 3-1 ATS off a loss so far this season, and on an 8-2-1 ATS run in the SEC.
Pretty similar game here, as Kentucky clearly doesn’t have it this season. Two Saturdays ago, the Wildcats got an impressive victory over LSU, and that’s just about all they’ve done this season. That game is Kentucky’s only win over its last seven games, and now hosts a tough Arkansas squad. The Razorbacks enter Tuesday winners of four of their last five, and covering three of their last four. Arkansas is a mediocre 3-3 ATS on the road this season, but this is more about what Kentucky’s been unable to do — just 3-4 straight up and 2-5 ATS at home.
