Bay Hill Club and Lodge will host the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week and in the past, we’ve seen Arnie’s tournament won by studs at the top of the betting board. Over the past five years, the average winning odds is just above +4400, with the longest coming from Marc Leishman at +10000 in 2017 and the shortest coming from Jason Day at +1400 the previous year. Also, each of the last five winners has been an international golfer with Matt Every being the last American to win back in 2015.
Weather is always an important aspect of golf in Florida and last year’s tournament fell victim to windy conditions with a winning score at 4-under. The average winning score over the previous five years, including last season, is just over 12-under par.

Matthew Fitzpatrick to Win +2500
As mentioned in yesterday’s article, Fitzpatrick has two tournaments on American soil under his belt, finishing no worse than 11th, gaining an average 5.6 strokes tee-to-green. Fitzy has yet to win on the PGA TOUR, but two of his 11 top 10s have been at Bay Hill, with one being a runner-up in 2019 and a 9th last season.
Justin Rose to Win +7000
Concession Golf Club was tough for Rose, losing 4.6 strokes tee-to-green, which was the fifth-most (in measured rounds) for him since 2003. Last week’s article featured Rose, which was probably a tad premature for the Englishman, but this number has ballooned to a size that’s too high for someone who just finished runner-up two weeks ago at the Saudi International. 2020 was a down year for Rose, not winning for the first time in a season since 2009. Per The Score’s Eric Paterson (Twitter: @EPatGolf), Rose had a chance to meet up with his coach for the first time in a while and this should only help the world no. 36.
Sebastian Munoz Top 10 +1000
An impressive 22nd-place at Concession Golf Club came from Munoz’s great iron-play, gaining 4.9 strokes through his approach. Munoz hasn’t been great on bermuda recently but still prefers it over poa annua and bentgrass. Another golfer we should keep our collective eyes on is Adam Long for a top 20 (+550). He’s missed the cut in three-straight events but has gained through approach in his last two tournaments. A 24th last season and a top 10 at Bay Hill for Long in his only two events here is an impressive record and a place he should feel comfortable to get back on track.
