It’s Tuesday, and we’ve got an action-packed six-game slate on tap in the NBA, including a couple intriguing nationally-televised games. With so many tight spreads and high totals, there should be plenty of excitement on this slate. Let’s survey DraftKings Sportsbook for some player props, totals and sides to bet. Los Angeles Clippers vs. Boston Celtics

Boston has covered just three times over the past 10 games, and is a far cry from the against the spread beast that it’s been under Brad Stevens. Though the Celtics have been better at home, they’re going to have their hands full with a Clippers team that is 9-5 ATS as the away favorite this season, and 8-3 ATS after a loss. Los Angeles dominated Milwaukee, the league’s second-most efficient team, for 44 minutes on Sunday before a four-minute scoring drought led them to a heartbreaking loss. This team is in great form with seven wins over the past 11 games, a few losses to elite competition, and just one bad result, the loss to Memphis. The Clippers are finally healthy and have figured things out, which can’t be said of the Celtics, who are sitting at .500.

New York Knicks vs. San Antonio Spurs:

San Antonio will be less than 24 hours removed from a grueling loss to the Nets, one where its defense stood tall but ultimately its offense could not convert enough chances against one of the league’s worst defenses. Now, Gregg Popovich’s group will face the second-best defense in the league in New York (107.4 DRtg) and one which has allowed the third-fewest points in the paint per game, an area which San Antonio likes to score. The Spurs are 1-3 ATS on the second night of a back-to-back, and has to face a hungry defense and a team which is peaking. It’s not going to go well for them.

Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers’ defense is back. Down Dennis Schroder and Anthony Davis, there was a four-game stretch there where not only did the Lakers lose every game, but they ranked in the middle of the NBA in defensive efficiency. That was stunning when you consider how insane L.A.’s been on that end of the floor, leading the second-best team (New York) in defensive rating by multiple points!

Well, that defense is back in a huge way. The Lakers allowed just 98.9 points per 100 possessions in Friday’s win over the Trail Blazers, and 84.3 in a blowout win against the Warriors over the weekend.

That’s only one piece of the puzzle. Phoenix ranks fourth in defense this season, and both teams rank in the bottom 10 in the league in pace, with Phoenix the second-slowest team in the league. I don’t care how low this number is, it’s not going to get low enough for me not to take it.
