Favorable Early Round Targets

Stephen Curry, G, Golden State Warriors

NBA Snake Rank: 8

Curry should put on a show tonight against the defensively inept Trail Blazers. Currently, they rank 28th in defensive efficiency and are giving up the 7th most DKFP per game to opposing point guards. Wednesday night will be the third time already this season that the Warriors and Blazers have gone head-to-head. In the first two matchups, Curry was magnificent with 60.4 DKFP per game.

The sharpshooter averaged 53.6 DKFP during the month of February and is vastly underrated at his current pre-draft ranking.

Zion Williamson, F/C, New Orleans Pelicans

NBA Snake Rank: 16

Many complained that Williamson didn’t deserve his All-Star selection and the 20-year-old has been on a mission to prove those haters wrong. Ever since being named to his first All-Star team last Tuesday, the forward has been on a tear, scoring 49.9 DKFP per game across his last four. This past Monday night, Williamson erupted for 46.5 DKFP in arguably their biggest win of the season, beating the 27-8 Jazz.

Now, for his final start before heading to Atlanta for the All-Star game, Williamson and the Pelicans will host the Bulls on Wednesday night. This matchup’s O/U game total is all the way up to 237 points on DraftKings Sportsbook and the budding star should close out the first half of the season with a bang. In the Pelicans’ four tilts that have presented a total of 235 points or higher this season, Williamson has generated 48.25 DKFP.

Early Round Player to Avoid

Ben Simmons, G, Philadelphia 76ers

NBA Snake Rank: 14

Simmons being this highly ranked tonight vs. the Jazz is absolutely ridiculous. The point forward has provided less than 40 DKFP in three of his past four and the Jazz are an elite defense, ranking 3rd in efficiency this season. The Sixers are right behind them at 4th in efficiency and the Jazz also currently play at the 4th slowest pace in the league.

This is going to be a grueling defensive battle and wasting a top-20 pick on Simmons is hard to fathom for this deep of a slate.

Late Round Fliers:

Kyle Lowry, G, Toronto Raptors

NBA Snake Rank: 27

Tonight, the Raptors are the most shorthanded team on the slate. All of Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and Patrick McCaw have been ruled out because of the NBA’s health and safety protocols, and Lowry should be relied on heavily tonight vs. the Pistons. When these four players have been off the court this year, the point guard’s usage rate has increased by 7.7 percentage points and his assist rate has jumped a huge 16.3 percentage points.

Lowry is coming off a massive triple-double of 58.25 DKFP against the Rockets and will also be at home, where the veteran has supplied 3.3 more DKFP per game this season. With his club so thin, it’s hard to imagine Lowry not seeing over 40 minutes against Detroit, and the enormous expected volume makes him of the best buys of the night.

Lonzo Ball, G, New Orleans Pelicans

NBA Snake Rank: 51

While his little brother LaMelo steals all the headlines, Lonzo has been quietly putting impressive numbers. In that huge victory against the Jazz on Monday night, Ball scored a season-high 49.25 DKFP in the very difficult matchup. This now puts his average at 39 DKFP per game over his past seven and Ball gets a solid matchup tonight against the Bulls, who rank 19th in defensive efficiency.

This is a huge upgrade from the Jazz defense he faced on Monday night and Ball already has a 43.3 DKFP outing against the Bulls under his belt this season. Lastly, it is worth mentioning the Pelicans will be at home in the Smoothie King Center this evening, where Ball has generated 5.3 more DKFP per game this season. He has been getting slept on all year long and Ball is a sneaky target that should be available in the later rounds of your snake drafts.

Bruce Brown, G, Brooklyn Nets

NBA Snake Rank: 107

With Kevin Durant (hamstring) still sidelined, Brown just keeps on producing for the Nets. In his last five starts for the superstar, the 24-year-old has scored 31.7 DKFP with 30.4 minutes per game. He has been extremely confident with his expanded role and Brown has shot the ball at an elite 70% clip in these past five. Banking on this type of shooting to continue is difficult, but the versatile wing is going to see big minutes with Durant remaining out Wednesday, and this matchup against the Rockets is certainly a plus.

Houston has been a complete mess, slipping to 24th in defensive rating over their last ten and Brown should finish with a minimum of 25 DKFP tonight.
