There are seven games in the NHL on Tuesday with the Lightning, Panthers and Bruins all significant favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Rangers and Canadiens are receiving short home chalk, whereas Chicago and Nashville are home underdogs. The Edmonton-Montreal bout is the only game with a 6.5 over/under total, and it’s probably also the marquee matchup of the night alongside the Capitals-Rangers bout.

Top Line Stacks
Oilers at Canadiens
Leon Draisaitl ($8,600) - Connor McDavid ($9,200) - Jesse Puljujarvi ($3,900)
The Oilers have been committed to McDavid and Draisaitl skating together in all situations of late, and with Edmonton playing its second game in consecutive nights, it will be important to double-check if they’re going to continue the trend. The duo has clicked for an incredible 8.99 goals and 23.21 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes this season, and Puljujarvi offers cap relief. It’s also worth noting that the trio is coming off a poor showing against Toronto, so a rebound outing is definitely in play. It’s also worth noting that this will be Montreal’s first game in 10 days, so the Canadiens could be rusty.
Red Wings at Panthers
Robby Fabbri ($4,200) - Dylan Larkin ($5,500) - Filip Zadina ($3,500)
The Panthers are going to be missing key cogs Patric Hornqvist (undisclosed) and Aaron Ekblad (lower body), and Aleksander Barkov (lower body) might also still be out, so it will be interesting to see how the Panthers hold up. Detroit’s new-look top line has the potential to be a matchup nightmare for the shorthanded Panthers, as the trio has generated 16.74 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes. Additionally, Larkin, Zadina and Fabbri have combined for an unsustainably low 5.9% shooting percentage while sharing the ice.
Superstar to Build Around
Steven Stamkos, TB vs. CLS ($6,700) - This is a reasonable salary to hone in on Stamkos at. He’s in a bit of an offensive funk with just a single goal through his past four games, too, so a breakout showing isn’t out of the question. Additionally, Columbus has surrendered 14 goals through its current four-game losing streak and sports a 24th-ranked 75.9% penalty-kill percentage while also allowing the eighth most goals per game in the league. Plus, Stamkos’ 3.16 points per hour ranks 21st among all NHLers with at least 500 minutes played this season.
Value on Offense
Martin Necas, CAR at CHI ($4,700) - This salary doesn’t match Necas’ current form, and especially with the Blackhawks checking out as a favorable opponent to target. The 22-year-old forward has collected 17 points — seven goals — through his past 13 games, and Chicago allows a healthy 3.11 goals per game and sports a 27th-ranked 73.8% penalty-kill percentage.
Tom Wilson, WAS at NYR ($3,900) - The physical winger has collected two goals and three assists through four games since returning from his suspension. Wilson is also up to a fifth-ranked 3.05 points per 60 minutes among NHL regulars at 5-on-5. The Rangers aren’t a pushover with just 2.4 goals against per hour at 5-on-5, but their .917 team save percentage ranks eighth lowest in the league.
Stud Goalies
Jaroslav Halak, BOS vs. NJ ($8,100) - The Devils have scored the fourth fewest goals per game in the league and sport a 28th-ranked 13.5% power-play percentage, so this shouldn’t be a tough matchup for Halak. Plus, Boston has surrendered the third fewest goals per game and boast the league’s best penalty-kill percentage. Halak also enters in solid form with a .931 save percentage and 1.94 GAA though his past eight starts.
Calvin Pickard, DET at FLA ($6,900) - There’s huge risk turning to Pickard, but it’s mitigated by his low salary, and he enters in solid form. The journeyman netminder has won his past two starts with a single goal allowed in each along with 37 saves. Additionally, as noted, the Panthers are going to be missing key cogs.
Value on Defense
Filip Hronek, DET at FLA ($4,500) - As noted, the Panthers could be in a vulnerable lineup position, and Hronek has been frequenting the scoresheet with two goals, eight assists and three power-play points through the past 10 games. He’s quarterbacking the No. 1 power-play unit again, and averaging a hefty 23:27 of ice time per game.
Markus Nutivaara, FLA vs. DET ($2,500) - With Aaron Ekblad (lower body) out for the season, expect Nutivaara to log more minutes, including on the power play. The 26-year-old Finn is far from a go-to fantasy asset, but at minimum price, he’s a potential flier to provide cap relief. Additionally, this is a cushy matchup with Detroit allowing the seventh most goals per game and sporting the worst penalty-kill percentage in the league.
Power-Play Defenseman
Victor Hedman, TB vs. CLS ($6,800) - As noted, the Blue Jackets have lost four consecutive games and allowed 14 goals during the skid, so look for Hedman to have a strong showing in the plus-matchup. Columbus has allowed the eighth most goals per game in the league and sports a 24th-ranked 75.9 penalty-kill percentage. Hedman paces all NHL defensemen in points, is second in shot attempts and is logging a career-high 25:31 of ice time per game with 3:32 on the power play.
Matt Grzelcyk, BOS vs. NJ ($5,300) - As noted, the Devils have the worst penalty-kill percentage in the league, so with Grzelcyk quarterbacking the No. 1 power-play unit, he’s positioned to succeed Tuesday. The 27-year-old defenseman has collected a respectable two tallies, two helpers and 26 shots through the past six games, too.
