Get your popcorn ready! As part of the film awards festivities, Major League Eating is hosting the Red Carpet Film Feast event in Las Vegas, Nevada, this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. ET. DraftKings is also offering a free entry to a DraftKings Sportsbook Pool that will hand out $10K in prizes for answering a series of questions about the Major League Eating contest on Sunday. The DraftKings Red Carpet Film Feast is scheduled to stream live on DraftKings’ YouTube channel and Twitch stream.
The Film Feast is a three-part event that starts with a Mega Movie Soda Chugging Contest. Three top Major League Eaters will then pay homage to a famous movie scene from Cool Hand Luke by fighting to determine who can eat 50 hard-boiled eggs the fastest. Make sure to save some of your appetite for the final part of the event, as three of the top names in the sport go head-to-head in an all-you-can-eat eight-minute event to establish a new world record in the first-ever Popcorn Eating World Championship.
Who will win the Mega Movie Soda Chugging Contest?
Will Badlands Booker chug a gallon of soda in under one minute?
Badlands Booker is the No. 24 ranked eater in the world, and he has truly become a legend due to his YouTube channel ‘BadlandsChugs’ when it comes to chugging. He’ll be going head-to-head in this matchup against Derek Hendrickson to see who can chug a full gallon of soda the fastest. Hendrickson is a much lesser-known chugger than Badlands, but he will have the home town advantage since he’s from Vegas.
Booker predicted he could down the full gallon in 15-to-20 seconds if he’s “in a hurry” or 45 seconds if he “takes his time.” Based on his YouTube videos and his track record in other soda chugs, it seems likely that he’ll be able to do the soda in under one minute. The soda will be consumed from standard-sized cups, which should lessen the impact of the carbonation.
Choice: Badlands Booker
Will anyone eat 50 eggs in less than five minutes?
Who will finish their 50 eggs first or eat the most within six minutes?
The two questions here are about if anyone will get all 50 eggs down in five minutes and who will end up winning the competition. The three competitors are Nick Wehry, Michelle Lesco and Matt Hazzard. Wehry is currently the No. 6 ranked eater in the world, Lesco checks in at No. 9 and Hazzard at No. 10. You might remember these competitors from DraftKings’ Big Game Snackdown, where Wehry finished third, Lesco finished sixth and “Hungry” Hazzard participated in a cheese product chugging showdown, which he lost to George Chiger.
Wehry also participated in the DraftKings Candy Bowl last October, finishing fourth. I think this should be his chance to take home a title, though, since he’s not going against the biggest names in the sport, who are in the World Popcorn Eating Championship.
As far as how quickly this could go, Joey Chestnut set the record with 141 hard-boiled eggs in eight minutes. Prior to that, Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas had the record with 65 in 6:40. Getting to 50 in five minutes seems incredible, but given the pace of those records, I think at least one of these competitors can get the job done.
Choice: Nick Wehry

Who will win the DraftKings World Popcorn Eating Championship?
Who will finish second in the World Popcorn Eating Championship?
Who will finish in last place in the World Popcorn Eating Championship?
There’s not much track record to go on here since there hasn’t been a World Popcorn Eating Championship. The three competitors will be led by the No. 1 ranked eater in the world and multiple World Record Holder, Joey Chestnut. Chestnut has participated in both the DraftKings Big Game Snackdown and the Candy Bowl but wasn’t able to pull off the win in either contest. Matthew Stonie won the Candy Bowl and will return to competition in this matchup after sitting out the Snackdown, which was won by Geoff Esper, who is the third competitor in this contest. Esper ran away from Chestnut in that event and enters this contest as the No. 2 ranked eater in the world.
Esper has been on a nice run lately with wins in sloppers (it’s a Colorado State Fair thing) and chicken wings before claiming the Snackdown win. Stonie hasn’t competed much lately and is the wild card here. His World records seem to trend toward sweeter treats, though, including Moon Pies, Peeps and Birthday Cake. While Chestnut is the chalky choice, I’m going with Esper to keep rolling and add a second straight DraftKings MLE title.
Choice: Geoffrey Esper to win, Joey Chestnut to finish second, Matthew Stonie to finish third
How many 24oz by volume servings of popcorn will the winner of the World Popcorn Eating Championship consume in eight minutes?
In 2005, the MTV Movie Awards had a Popcorn-eating contest and Sonya ‘The Black Widow’ Thomas claimed that title with 9.5 large boxes of popcorn in 10 minutes. There is no record of exactly how many ounces those boxes were, but it’s still a good frame of reference. These three competitors are among the best in the world and the sport has progressed significantly in the 16 years since that event. I think we’ll see an increase to the 9 to 16 bracket despite a reduction of time for this contest.
Choice: 9 to 16
Which of these combinations will win the World Popcorn Eating contest and best picture?
Of the eight nominees for best picture, Nomadland is the heavy favorite at around -670. The Trial of the Chicago 7 has the second-best odds but is all the way back at +650, with the other six films even longer shots to take home the prize. As a result, Nomadland is the only option in this prop that is paired with each of the three eaters. It makes sense to correlate your winner pick from the previous prop with that film, but if you really want to differentiate your entry you could take a flier and go with “Any other Combination.”
Choice: Geoffrey Esper and Nomadland
