Ladies and gentlemen, the weekend. We’ve got a splendid six-game slate coming your way on the hardwood Saturday night, including a fun rematch of two teams that just played a good one on Friday. With so much to choose from, let’s survey DraftKings Sportsbook for some player props, totals and sides to bet. You can follow me on Twitter (@KennyDucey) for any late adds.

Here’s what jumps out to me tonight.

San Antonio Spurs vs. New Orleans Pelicans

Pelicans -3

I’m staring right at the Spurs’ frontcourt here, as I should. The battle out front is where the Pelicans win and lose games, and here they should pull off a convincing victory over the team right ahead of them for the last spot in the play-in tournament out West. The Spurs rank 21st in rebounding rate over the past 10 games, which isn’t going to fly against Steven Adams and a team that sits atop the NBA in rebounding this year. The Pelicans seemed to snap out of their offensive funk against the Magic, and I think they should carry over some of that momentum into this one. We know they have the scorers on the roster; they’ve scored all season long. A weak offense and a weak frontcourt is a great matchup here for New Orleans.

Los Angles Lakers vs. Dallas Mavericks

Lakers +2

Kristaps Porzingis is one of three Mavs questionable for this game, which is reason enough for me to take the Lakers. I already liked them a lot last time out against Dallas because of the returning Anthony Davis, who not only brings energy to this team but also adds over eight points per 100 possessions to a struggling offense. L.A. has battened down the hatches on defense without Davis and LeBron James, preserving one of the league’s strongest units, and will have the far superior defense in this one. This is 65% a bet on the Lakers’ defense and approximately 35% a bet on the health of Porzingis. The Mavs should really struggle to find a way through this defense without him.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Utah Jazz

Timberwolves +12

It’s undeniable that this is a completely different team with D’Angelo Russell healthy. D-Lo has been in the lineup for the past 10 games now, and over that stretch, Minnesota ranks ninth in offensive efficiency with 114.7 points per 100 possessions. The Jazz, meanwhile, can’t exactly be afforded the same praise on offense since Donovan Mitchell went down due to an ankle injury. Their wins are hardly inspiring, coming against the limping Lakers and the tanking Rockets and points have been hard to come by. This should be their toughest test since the Mitchell injury, though not by much, and it should be a close game. Both of these teams can score; we should be heading for a shootout.
