Fantasy Basketball Picks: Top DraftKings NBA DFS Lineup Strategy for Mavericks vs. Kings Showdown on April 26

Kenny Ducey gives his top NBA lineup advice for Monday’s fantasy basketball Showdown contest on DraftKings between the Mavericks and Kings, which starts at 10:00 p.m. ET.

NBA: Sacramento Kings at Dallas Mavericks Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Mavericks are still very much in the mix for one of the top six spots out West, which would help them avoid the play-in tournament. Their quest to rise up the standings will continue vs. the Sacramento Kings, who are out of the running and coming off a crushing loss vs. Golden State. The Kings choose to play no defense, and Mavs have also struggled there lately, which should make for a fun Showdown.

Without further ado, let’s get into how to construct your Showdown lineups for Monday evening.

Captain

Buddy Hield ($12,900 CP)

The Mavericks have five games this week, so I’m inclined to believe Luka Doncic ($12,400) and Kristaps Porzingis ($10,400) will sit here. That leaves the captain’s spot in shambles, with De’Aaron Fox already out and Dorian Finney-Smith ($6,600) questionable. Hield has been shooting it pretty well lately and has taken 30 three-pointers in his past three games. I see no reason why he shouldn’t be chucking it up here against a team that will be likely playing third-stringers.

Tyrese Haliburton ($12,000 CP)

If you don’t like Hield, then Haliburton should once again be a go. He should get many, many minutes in this one since the Kings are again without Fox, who entered into the league’s health protocols. You saw phenomenal value with Haliburton last night against a lethargic Golden State defense, and that should be followed up with another 40-DKFP night. Haliburton took a whopping 20 shots vs. the Warriros and managed that big line despite hitting just two threes. There’s actually a higher ceiling than 40 here.

Fades

Hassan Whiteside ($6,400)

I’m once again fading Whiteside, who has not played well off the bench all season long. His minutes have been cut thanks to the return of Richaun Holmes ($8,200) and he will soon be phased out completely again. I’m not sure if you were considering him, but please don’t do it. He had just over 5 DKFP last night and shouldn’t see the floor enough to warrant this price.

Value FLEX Options

Jalen Brunson ($5,400)

Brunson is going to be a must-play here if Doncic does indeed sit. He should be locked in to 30-plus minutes, and he’s scored 4.3 more DKFP per 36 minutes with Doncic off the floor. Brunson is an objectively good player and would be going up against the worst defense in basketball for considerable minutes. The only concern would be assists and points being down if he’s playing alongside some scrubs.

Dwight Powell ($4,000)

What did Powell do when he was finally afforded close to 30 minutes? He broke out with 37.25 DKFP over the weekend thanks to 25 points and nine boards. If Porzingis can’t go again, this hard fighter in the frontcourt should see close to 30 minutes again. He is a great rebounder and will face one of the five worst rebounding teams in the league.

The Outcome

The Kings will continue to struggle on defense, but against a team that’s probably going to be taking it easy with its injured stars, things should be close. I’m still not in love with the top options who will be healthy enough to play, so I don’t think scoring will be easy. The Kings should scratch this one out.

Final Score: Kings 107, Mavericks 106
