Round 4 Recap — Sunday

Hideki Matsuyama wins 2021 Masters

After firing a one-over-par 73 on Sunday, Matsuyama ($8,300; 118 DKFP) became the first ever golfer from Japan to win The Masters. He had three birdies on the front nine and cruised in for a one-shot victory despite four bogeys on the back nine as a result of playing it safe on many of the holes. Matsuyama pulled ahead with a brilliant back nine on Saturday when he shot six-under including four-under on hole No. 15 through hole No. 17. After adding his first major championship, Matsuyama has now won six times on the PGA Tour including two WGC events to go with this Masters triumph. It’s his first PGA Tour win since the 2017 WGC-Bridgestone, and he now has seven straight made cuts and six top-14 finishes in his last seven trips to Augusta. — Zach Thompson

Will Zalatoris comes up short, but impresses in Augusta debut

The rise of Zalatoris ($7,300; 99.0 DKFP) has been one of the best stories of the PGA Tour season as the 24-year-old continues to dazzle at every turn. Zalatoris rose through the Korn Ferry Tour and earned special temporary membership on the PGA TOUR. Although he won’t be eligible for the postseason unless he gets a win, Zalatoris has been on fire, making 11 straight cuts — including nine top-25 finishes. In his debut at The Masters, he finished solo second just one stroke behind champion Hideki Matsuyama ($8,300; 118.0 DKFP) after shooting a two-under Sunday. Xander Schauffele ($10,000; 100 DKFP) and Jordan Spieth ($9,400) tied for third while Jon Rahm ($11,000; 84 DKFP) and Marc Leishman ($6,900; 84.5 DKFP) rounded out the top five. — Zach Thompson

Round 2 Recap — Friday

Justin Rose holds one-stroke lead at the Masters

Rose ($7,200; 80 DKFP) was the clubhouse leader following his seven-under first round, and an even par on Friday was good enough for him to maintain the lead heading into the weekend. During the second round, the 40-year-old looked lost on the front nine of Augusta National, carding four bogeys and just one birdie. However, Rose regained his form on the back nine, posting three birdies and no scores over par. Despite his strong record at this major, Rose was only owned by 2.83% of the field in the DraftKings Millionaire Maker. Even with the one-stroke advantage, Rose presents the third-best odds to win the Masters on DraftKings Sportsbook (+550), with Jordan Spieth ($9,400; 58 DKFP), who is tied for fourth, as the current favorite (+400). — Alex Hunter

Brooks Koepka among notable missed cuts at 2021 Masters

Koepka ($9,200) has won four career majors — two U.S. Opens and two PGA Championships — but he will not be playing this weekend at Augusta. He shot 74 on Thursday and followed that up with a 75 on Friday, which put him at five-over-par for the tournament. The cut line ultimately landed at three-over-par, leaving Koepka on the wrong side of the number. It was his first missed cut at a major since the 2013 Open Championship, a span of 24 events. Luckily, Koepka had an average ownership of just 5.24% in DraftKings tournaments. Other notables to miss the cut include Dustin Johnson ($11,500), Rory McIlroy ($10,200), Patrick Cantlay ($9,800) and Daniel Berger ($8,500). Among that quartet, Berger carried the highest average ownership at 16.82%. — Matt LaMarca

Round 1 Recap — Thursday

Justin Rose gets hot, builds four-shot lead after one round at The Masters

On a day that started in the worst way imaginable, little went wrong for Rose ($7,200; 65 DKFP) in Thursday’s opening round of The Masters. The 40-year-old bogeyed the first hole he played at Augusta National and moved to +2 after a bogey on the seventh before he absolutely caught fire. Rose would birdie seven of the next 10 holes, eagling the eighth, to go on one of the best stretches ever seen at this tournament. When it was all said and done, Rose was into the clubhouse with a four-shot lead at -7 after carding a 65. Brian Harman ($6,800; 38 DKFP) and Hideki Matsuyama ($8,300; 40.5 DKFP) are currently sitting in a tie for second at -3. Rose has never won this event, but is a two-time runner up. Perhaps this is finally his year. — Kenny Ducey

Bryson DeChambeau, Rory McIlroy struggle in opening round of The Masters

Entering this year’s Masters, DeChambeau ($10,800) was one of the favorites at 10 to 1 to win it all. As a result, he was rostered in 23.1% of $4M Millionaire tournament lineups. He has his work cut out for him, though, because he was +4 in the opening round. He bogeyed the third hole but got it back three holes later, then it all fell apart on the back nine. DeChambeau he double-bogeyed hole 4 then bogeyed holes 5 and 8. McIlroy ($10,200) was also one of the favorites entering The Masters with odds of 16 to 1. He was rostered in 10.6% of lineups in the Millionaire tournament. He only posted two birdies to six bogeys, finishing +4 on the day, like DeChambeau. — Stan Son
