Fantasy Basketball Picks: Top DraftKings NBA DFS Lineup Strategy for Jazz vs. Warriors Showdown on May 10

Kenny Ducey gives his top NBA lineup advice for Monday’s fantasy basketball Showdown contest on DraftKings between the Jazz and Warriors, which starts at 10:00 p.m. ET.

NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder at Golden State Warriors Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

The Golden State Warriors would love to snag a spot in the top-half of the upcoming play-in tournament and have a chance to stay in front of the Grizzlies, who sit a half-game behind them entering Monday. That chance comes against the top team out West, the Utah Jazz, who have maintained a safe distance from the chase group despite losing star guard Donovan Mitchell.

Without further ado, let’s get into how to construct your Showdown lineups for Monday evening.

Captain

Stephen Curry ($16,500 CP)

What’s not to like here? The sharpshooter is fresh off a 49-point outing, which led him to 65.25 DKFP in just 29 minutes. In what should be a more competitive game than the previous two, Curry should be back up over 35 minutes — which is great news considering he’s averaged 25 shots per game over his last five, posting 57.9 DKFP a night during the stretch. His usage rate continues to be through the roof, as well, going up over 40% in five of the last six outings. The matchup isn’t the best, but the volume sure is.

Rudy Gobert ($14,700 CP)

I get it, nothing about Rudy Gobert screams “must-play” when we’re talking about fantasy basketball. He lacks the scoring prowess we want to see from post players in order to pay this kind of price. With that said, attacking the Warriors this year in the frontcourt has been a winning strategy. They are 28th in rebounding rate, meaning Gobert is a prime candidate to post near 20 rebounds given his season average of 13.3. He plays a ton of minutes, meaning he should be position to bully the Warriors all night long.

Fades

Kent Bazemore ($6,200)

Bazed God’s good games are few and far between. He’s been overtaken by Juan Toscano-Anderson ($5,800) in the rotation, with Jordan Poole ($4,600) also eating into his minutes. There are just so many more talented wings out there for the Warriors to make Bazemore an easy fade. His minutes are on the decline, and his production was never really there.

Value FLEX Options

Juan Toscano-Anderson ($5,800)

I just mentioned him, but I love firing up Toscano-Anderson here. He’s leapfrogged so many Warriors for playing time, getting 32 or more minutes in four of his last five games. Without Kelly Oubre, Jr. and Damion Lee, there are plenty of shots to go around with the minutes. Nothing about Toscano-Anderson’s last 10 games is troubling; he’s been a value-hitting machine. Twnety-five DKFP should be what you get at the bare minimum, which would be over four times his salary and thus, a fine play. The upside here is massive.

Derrick Favors ($2,200)

I mentioned earlier, you’ll always want to go against the Warriors’ frontcourt, so Favors catches my eye here. His upside is limited by his playing time, sure, but he should also have a floor of at least 15 minutes. He’s shown he can flirt with a 20-DKFP night in that amount of time thanks to his presence on the glass. So at just a shade over $2K, I like his chances of returning potentially seven times what you pay for here.

The Outcome

The Warriors have everything to play for here and should come out playing some inspired basketball vs. the Jazz, who have won enough lately to almost guarantee the top spot out West. Utah’s defense has gotten ever-so-slightly worse, and a Warriors team that has been streaking on the offensive end, en route to a 4-1 record over their last five, should be there to capitalize.

Final Score: Warriors 103, Jazz 98
