Madden Stream Picks: Top DraftKings Fantasy Football DFS Targets, Values for May 17

Zach Thompson gives his top studs and value plays at each position for Monday’s three-game Madden Stream DraftKings slate, which starts at 6:00 p.m. ET.

The DraftKings Dream Stream is ready to kick off another week with some Monday Night Football, highlighted by a three-game classic slate that begins at 6:00 p.m. ET. The first game features Lamar Jackson ($8,200) and the Baltimore Ravens visiting the New York Giants. At 8:00 p.m. ET, the Washington Football Team hosts the Cincinnati Bengals in a matchup of the No. 1 and the No. 2 overall picks from the 2020 NFL Draft. The final game of the day is a rematch of the AFC Championship as the Kansas City Chiefs host the Buffalo Bills at 10 p.m. ET on Madden After Dark.

Check out all the gameplay details on the Madden Streams Information Page and dive into the full depth chart for each team. My favorite fantasy plays for today’s slate are listed below.

Quarterback

Stud

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens at New York Giants, $8,200 — Jackson always has an extremely high ceiling due to his rushing production and should be set up to feast against the Giants’ below-average run defense. He had 137 rushing yards and 31.34 DKFP in his first game against Big Blue and followed that with 17.16 DKFP in the rematch. Jackson has averaged 104.1 rushing yards and 148.0 passing yards per sim while totaling 68 rushing scores and 79 passing scores in his 81 sims. He has over 22 DKFP in four of his past six sims and has the highest ceiling of any player in Madden 21.

Other Options — Patrick Mahomes ($7,900), Josh Allen ($7,400)

Value

Dwayne Haskins Jr., Washington Football Team vs. Cincinnati Bengals, $5,900 — If you’re going to pass on all three elite QB plays, Haskins makes an interesting pivot since he does have a high ceiling despite some inconsistent production. In three of his four most recent contests, Haskins has multiple touchdown passes and 18 DKFP or more, and he gets a good matchup against the Bengals, who he had 14.16 and 17.56 DKFP against earlier in these sims.

Other Option — Daniel Jones ($5,400)

Running Back

Stud

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills, $6,800 — When the game flow has pushed the Chiefs to run the ball more, CEH has been productive as the team’s full-time RB. He has averaged 43.3 rushing yards and 28.2 receiving yards on 3.6 catches per sim while scoring a total of 65 touchdowns in 85 sims. He has over 14 DKFP in seven of his past nine sims, including two games with over 30 DKFP during that stretch. The Bills have an excellent secondary but have been vulnerable to big games by opposing RBs, so this could be a game script that forces the Chiefs to go to Edwards-Helaire early and often.

Other Options — Saquon Barkley ($7,300), J.D. McKissic ($6,600)

Value

J.K. Dobbins, Baltimore Ravens at New York Giants, $4,500 — The Ravens’ backfield rotation of Dobbins and RB1 Mark Ingram II ($4,000) is the best place on this slate to find value. They get a great matchup against the Giants and have both shown a high ceiling. I’ll give Dobbins the slight edge as the third-down and power back since he has over 11 DKFP in four of his past 11 games, highlighted by a 100-yard performance against the Panthers that resulted in 24.6 DKFP. He has a similar ceiling in this matchup and a little lower risk than Ingram due to his PPR production.

Other Options — Gio Bernard ($5,300), Mark Ingram II ($4,000)

Wide Receiver

Stud

Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills, $7,700 — Hill is averaging 22.6 DKFP per sim while no other WR on this slate is producing more than 13.1 DKFP. Hill’s 99 speed rating makes him a constant big-play threat, and the fact that he plays out of the slot should help him avoid X-factor Superstar CB Tre’Davious White. Hill has 15 touchdowns in his past nine sims with over 20 DKFP in each of those contests and an average of 30.2 DKFP per sim over that red-hot stretch.

Other Options — John Ross III ($5,700), Sterling Shepard ($5,200)

Value

Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals at Washington Football Team, $4,400 — Boyd has been successful out of the slot for the Bengals and has a high ceiling in this favorable matchup. He had 13.6 and 16.1 DKFP in his two previous games against Washington and is averaging 3.7 catches for 42.4 yards per sim with 21 touchdowns in 76 contests.

Darius Slayton, New York Giants vs. Baltimore Ravens, $4,000 — Slayton gets a lot of work for the Giants even though he is their WR3. He has multiple catches in 10 straight sims, highlighted by 20.4 DKFP against the Rams. Slayton also posted 19.6 DKFP in one of his two earlier matchups with the Ravens.

Other Options — John Brown ($4,200), Willie Snead ($4,100), Demarcus Robinson ($3,500)

Tight End

Stud

Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills, $5,900 — The Bills have been vulnerable to TEs since their best cover CBs usually stay on the outside, which could open things up for Kelce to have another huge game. He is averaging 16.4 DKFP on 5.7 catches for 67.7 yards per sim. He has only found the end zone in one of his past 10 sims since Hill has been getting all the touchdowns, but he still is a primary red zone threat as evidenced by his 46 scores over 85 sims overall.

Value

C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati Bengals at Washington Football Team, $4,200 — Uzomah is usually a very solid producer for the Bengals and put up a massive 40 DKFP with three touchdowns and 120 yards in one of his two previous games against Washington. He only had one catch and 1.6 DKFP in the rematch, but his upside is exceptional for a player whose salary is barely over $4K.

Other Option — Jeremy Sprinkle ($4,600)

DST

Stud

Washington DST vs. Cincinnati Bengals, $3,200 — Washington’s pass rush has totaled 166 sacks in 78 sims, and the defense has forced 55 turnovers while scoring 11 touchdowns. While Washington didn’t have many big plays against the Bengals previously, it still brings the best talent and playmakers of any DST on this slate.

Value

Ravens DST at New York Giants, $3,000 — The Giants’ offense has been boom-or-bust, and when Daniel Jones ($5,400) has been off, they have struggled badly. The Ravens just held them to 13 points and had 7.0 DKFP in a sim last week and have done a good job limiting opponents’ scoring overall while producing 141 sacks and 32 turnovers in their 81 contests.
