Offense Notes
Cheap Pitching to Allow for Easy Lineup Building
Thursday night’s slate is an unusual one in that there is an abundance of cheap pitchers to choose from, and because of that there’s going to be much less restriction on lineup construction due to salary constraints. The Cardinals are underpriced and should be a very popular target as a result, but the White Sox figure to be among the chalkiest teams too despite being fairly expensive. There are basically two teams on the slate who are expensive enough to also be contrarian, and that’s the A’s and Dodgers, who are in mediocre matchups and probably will be overlooked. Both teams are theoretically going to be hard to fit, but pitching is cheap enough on Thursday that it really shouldn’t be all that difficult to do. Nonetheless, these teams should remain low-owned, and that’s largely because of the tremendous appeal that the White Sox are going to have for their plus matchup at home against the Orioles.
