Fantasy Baseball Picks: Top DraftKings MLB DFS Lineup Strategy for Rangers vs. Dodgers Showdown on June 11

Kenny Ducey gives his top lineup advice for Friday’s fantasy baseball Showdown contest on DraftKings between the Rangers and the Dodgers, which starts at 10:10 p.m. ET.

MLB: Texas Rangers at Seattle Mariners Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

The Texas Rangers might be one of the worst teams in baseball at the moment, but they still have plenty of boppers in their lineup, which makes them an interesting team to attack from a DFS perspective. On the other side, the Los Angeles Dodgers are always highly-priced, making the choices very difficult. The two sides do battle once more on Friday as the Dodgers will hope to have a more comfortable win than they did on Thursday in Pittsburgh.

With plenty of fun sure to ensue, let’s get right into how to construct your DraftKings lineups for Friday night’s Showdown contest.

Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Captain’s Picks

Clayton Kershaw ($16,500 CP) - Kershaw should afford you a pretty high floor when you consider how great he’s been in the strikeout department despite struggling with allowing hits and runs. He’s struck out 15 over his last 12 innings, in which he allowed a combined 10 earned runs, which still left you with some return. Those starts were also against the Braves and Giants, and the Rangers’ lineup is a far cry from those.

Joey Gallo ($12,000 CP) - It’s still unclear if Gallo will play on Friday, but barring he sits with groin tightness again, I love him. The thing is, you need to save a lot of money if you want to get some Dodgers in your build, and I think Gallo is your best bet for value at captain. He actually has a 14% higher Isolated Power against left-handers, and has three hits in his past four games — two of which were homers — with four walks. The three true outcomes are working here, and I want the TTO King in my lineup.

UTIL Plays

Isiah Kiner-Falefa ($6,200) - Kiner-Falefa is probably the Rangers’ best all-around offensive player, and he’s all the way down here close to $6K. He’s hitting .311 over the past two weeks, and while they’re sometimes empty calories, he offers some upside in the stolen base department as well. He is a perfect Showdown player; he’ll most likely get you something, and at this price you’ll take something.

AJ Pollock ($5,000) - Pollock has made contact on a blistering 85.7% of swings over the past two weeks, and enters with an .809 OPS over the last 10 games. Like Kiner-Falefa, he’s done well to get you something every game, but the upside here is probably a little higher. Pollock has played so well that he’s actually found his way into the lineup against righties, which is quite the accomplishment with so many folks in the outfield at the moment for Dave Roberts. Above all else, Mike Foltynewicz ($9,400) has been terrible this year and I want to fade him with most of the Dodgers. This is a great price and a great way to do so.

Fades

Mookie Betts ($10,400) - I said “most” for a reason. Betts has been pretty brutal this year, and coming off a 26-DKFP performance I expect many to get him in their showdown lineups. Simply put, he has not capitalized enough on the fact that he’s getting so many at-bats in the leadoff spot, and his homer on Thursday was his first since May 18. The upside here just isn’t worth all this money.

The Outcome

With both pitchers coming in with their fair share of doubts, I think an offensive battle will ensue, and with that I’m going to go with the better of the two lineups. That should be Los Angeles, who should tee off on Folty all night long. I expect Kershaw, on the other hand, to settle back in here and get back to dominating.

Final Score: Dodgers 7, Rangers 3
