Madden Stream Picks: Top DraftKings Fantasy Football DFS Targets, Values for June 2

Zach Thompson gives his top studs and value plays at each position for Wednesday’s three-game Madden Stream DraftKings slate, which starts at 6:00 p.m. ET.

On this wild weather Wednesday, we’re well into Week 4 of the Madden simulated season with six more sims scheduled on the DraftKings Dream Stream. The featured classic slate focuses on the latter three games in the set, beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET with a matchup between the Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills, which will be impacted by the wind in virtual Orchard Park. At 8:00 p.m. ET, there will be no weather in play as the New Orleans Saints host the New York Giants in the virtual Superdome, and in the final matchup of the night, the Kansas City Chiefs visit the Philadelphia Eagles in the rain.

You can keep up with the standings as the season continues and check out the depth charts for each team. If you’re looking for gameplay details for these sims along with the upcoming schedule, head over to the Madden Streams Information Page.

Quarterback

Stud

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs at Philadelphia Eagles, $7,600 — The Chiefs picked up a big divisional win in overtime against the Chargers in their most recent sim and Mahomes threw for 303 yards on his way to 19.12 DKFP. That was actually his lowest total in six sims since he has been racking up multiple touchdowns in most contests. He has totaled 220 passing scores and 18 rushing touchdowns in his 92 sims overall in Madden 21, and he threw for three scores and 23.48 DKFP in his most recent matchup with the Eagles.

Other Option — Deshaun Watson ($7,100)

Value

Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints vs. New York Giants, $6,300 — Brees has struggled badly in weather games, so it’s great news that this game will be played indoors. He also gets a favorable matchup against the Giants, who he posted 16.68 and 16.86 DKFP against in their two previous meetings in Madden 21. He has thrown seven scores in his three games this season with over 20 DKFP in each of those performances. If you pass on Mahomes to spend up in other spots, Brees is the best salary-saving option.

Other Option — Josh Allen ($6,700)

Running Back

Stud

Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints vs. New York Giants, $7,300 — Given the matchup and the weather-free setting, it seems like a good night for a Saints stack, and Kamara is the central piece of their offense. He has 77 touchdowns in his 90 Madden 21 sims and posted at least 22 DKFP in three of his past four. He had 24.0 and 23.2 DKFP in his two earlier meetings with the Giants, who have struggled to stop featured RBs from putting up big numbers.

Other Options — Saquon Barkley ($7,600), Miles Sanders ($6,700)

Value

Duke Johnson, Houston Texans at Buffalo Bills, $4,300 — There aren’t many timeshares to target on this slate, but the two Johnsons split the work in the Texans’ backfield with Duke picking up the work in passing situations. In his 76 sims as the third-down back, Johnson has averaged 2.4 catches for 17.7 yards per sim and scored 17 touchdowns. He has multiple catches in 16 of his past 17 sims and should be able to chip in some decent production at this very affordable price point.

Other Option — Clyde Edwards-Helaire ($6,200)

Wide Receiver

Stud

Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs at Philadelphia Eagles, $7,800 — No one has been able to keep up with the Cheetah and his 99 speed rating in Madden 21. He has easily been the most productive WR in the game, averaging 22.8 DKFP on 6.3 catches for 95.5 yards per sim and totaling an impressive 85 touchdowns. He has scored in each of the Chiefs’ three games this season and had 33.6 DKFP against the Chargers in his most recent sim. Against the Eagles, he posted 34.5 DKFP on 10 catches after finishing with 214 yards and 43.4 DKFP in their first meeting. Especially given the matchup, Hill is the top option to pay up for at any position on this slate.

Other Options — Michael Thomas ($6,500), DeSean Jackson ($6,100)

Value

Marquise Goodwin, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs, $5,400 — Goodwin’s 97 speed rating gives him a high ceiling as well, although he hasn’t been as consistently excellent as Hill. The Eagles’ primary slot option has averaged 12.3 DKFP on 3.9 catches for 51.3 yards per game, and he had two strong games against the Chiefs, posting 11.6 and 19.5 DKFP in their previous contests.

Tre’Quan Smith, New Orleans Saints vs. New York Giants, $4,600 — The Saints’ WR3 has six touchdowns over his past five games, giving him 34 in 89 sims to go with an average of 10.4 DKFP on 3.5 catches for 45.2 yards per game. He had at least four catches in each of his two previous meetings with Big Blue and should be a good value play on this slate.

Other Options — Will Fuller V ($4,700), Golden Tate ($4,400), Demarcus Robinson ($3,400)

Tight End

Stud

Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs, $5,300 — The top two TEs on this slate face off on Madden After Dark as Ertz takes on Travis Kelce ($6,100). Kelce has taken a back seat to Hill in the previous meetings between these teams, so I actually think Ertz is a better play since he saves almost $1K. He had 11.3 and 17.4 DKFP in his two previous games against the Chiefs and is averaging 5.4 catches for 58.3 yards per sim in his 81 Madden 21 games overall.

Other Option — Travis Kelce ($6,100)

Value

Jared Cook, New Orleans Saints vs. New York Giants, $4,400 — Cook hasn’t had any monster games lately, which has caused his salary to dip under $4.5K. He still has multiple catches in 48 straight sims, though, and has reached at least 9.0 DKFP in three of his past four games. He had a huge game with nine catches, 103 yards and a touchdown for 28.3 DKFP in one of his previous matchups with the Giants, so this is a good place to plug him in at TE or FLEX and take advantage of his reduced salary and reliable production.

Other Option — Darren Fells ($3,900)

DST

Stud

Bills DST vs. Houston Texans, $3,100 — Deshaun Watson ($7,100) has been dynamic in these sims but has also had turnover issues and could struggle with the wind in Buffalo. The Bills’ defense has forced 67 turnovers in 82 sims to go with 155 sacks and nine defensive touchdowns. They have been the most productive DST on the slate, averaging 5.4 DKFP, and have even been slightly better at home with 5.6 DKFP per game.

Value

Chiefs DST at Philadelphia Eagles, $2,600 — The Chiefs usually give up plenty of points and tend to get into high-scoring games, but their defense steps up with big plays at times. In their 92 sims, the Chiefs have 150 sacks and 54 takeaways, including two interceptions in their two previous meetings with the Eagles.
