Madden Stream Picks: Top DraftKings Fantasy Football DFS Targets, Values for August 2

Zach Thompson gives his top studs and value plays at each position for Monday’s three-game Madden Stream DraftKings slate, which starts at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Monday night features three Madden 21 sims this week on the DraftKings Dream Stream. The three-game featured classic slate kicks off at 6:00 p.m. ET when the Las Vegas Raiders visit the Philadelphia Eagles. At 8:00 p.m. ET, the primetime spotlight shines on the NFC South as the Atlanta Falcons host the New Orleans Saints. On Madden After Dark, the Buffalo Bills head to virtual Phoenix to take on the Arizona Cardinals in a rematch of the “Hail Murray” game from last season.

As you build your lineups, be sure to consider the depth charts for each team. If you’re looking for gameplay details for these sims, along with the upcoming schedule, head over to the Madden Streams Information Page.

Quarterback

Stud

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills at Arizona Cardinals, $6,700 — There are three strong QB options on this slate, but Allen is my favorite of the bunch since he gets a nice matchup against Arizona’s beatable defense. Allen has averaged 164.9 passing yards and 63.4 rushing yards per sim while scoring 151 total touchdowns in 102 games. He had over 16 DKFP in each of his two earlier games against Arizona and has posted over 15 DKFP in four straight and eight of his past 11. He is a steady producer with a high ceiling and should take advantage of this matchup.

Other Option — Carson Wentz ($6,800)

Value

Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons, $6,200 — The Saints have taken on the Falcons eight times in Madden 21 and Brees has typically been good in the matchup with over 18 DKFP in five of those eight games and an average of 20.3 DKFP. He has over 19 DKFP in each of his three most recent sims against the Falcons and just posted 25.64 DKFP against the Broncos in his most recent contest. While he doesn’t add the rushing upside to his ceiling like the elite options in Madden 21, he has been able to produce 264.2 passing yards per sim, which makes him a solid value play.

Running Back

Stud

Todd Gurley II, Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints, $7,300 — Despite his struggles in real life, Gurley has been excellent in these sims, scoring 64 times in 106 sims while averaging 4.6 catches, 53.8 rushing yards and 38.0 receiving yards per game. He had over 22 DKFP in five of his eight previous games against the Saints, including two games with over 34 DKFP. His consistent work as a receiver makes him lower risk and also gives him an extremely high ceiling.

Other Options — Alvin Kamara ($7,500), Miles Sanders ($7,000)

Value

Jalen Richard, Las Vegas Raiders at Philadelphia Eagles, $4,000 — Richard has also been very involved as a pass-catcher, although at a much lower level than Gurley. Richard has hauled in 3.1 catches for 22.6 receiving yards per game and scored 22 touchdowns in 99 games. He almost always chips in a few fantasy points and is a great play at just $4K if you decide to stack stars in other roster spots.

Other Option — Devin Singletary ($5,200)

Wide Receiver

Stud

Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints, $6,900 — Jones and Michael Thomas ($6,000) have both been outstanding games in the previous sims involving this NFC South rivalry. Jones had just 4.2 DKFP in their most recent head-to-head but went off for over 19 DKFP in five of their previous seven meetings, including a game with 29 DKFP and a game with 39 DKFP. He has been the second-best WR overall in Madden 21, averaging 18.7 DKFP on 5.3 catches for 82.8 yards per sim and totaling 72 touchdowns in 104 games.

Other Option — Michael Thomas ($6,000), DeAndre Hopkins ($5,700)

Value

DeSean Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Las Vegas Raiders, $5,400 — Jackson still has a high enough speed rating in Madden 21 to be a big-play threat, and the Raiders’ secondary has no one who matches up well against him. In their first Madden 21 meeting, Jackson had a monster game of 42.5 DKFP on eight catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns. He followed that up with 25.1 DKFP on six catches for 101 yards in the rematch. It’s obviously a mismatch the Eagles can and should attack once again, making Jackson an elite midrange option.

Russell Gage, Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints, $3,600 — If you have to go cheap at a WR spot, Gage is a very solid play as the Falcons’ WR3 and primary slot option. He has averaged 3.4 catches for 38.6 yards per sim and found the end zone 30 times. He has been more involved at home than on the road and has at least three catches in three straight home sims.

Other Options — Calvin Ridley ($5,200), Tre’Quan Smith ($4,900), Marquise Goodwin ($4,800)

Tight End

Stud

Darren Waller, Las Vegas Raiders vs. Philadelphia Eagles, $5,800 — Waller is one of the best fantasy TEs in Madden 21 since he gets so much attention in the Raiders’ offense and typically gets involved on deep routes down the field. He had 12.6 and 26.8 DKFP in his two earlier meetings with the Eagles and has at least four catches in 10 of his past 11 sims. He is averaging 4.6 catches for 55.7 yards per sim and has scored 32 touchdowns in 99 contests.

Other Option — Zach Ertz ($5,100)

Value

Jared Cook, New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons, $4,500 — On some slates, Cook is a stud option at TE, but there are so many good plays on Monday night that he slides to a solid value play at $4.5K. Cook has at least five catches in five straight sims with double-digit DKFP in four straight, highlighted by 22.2 DKFP in his most recent sim. He had 16.3 DKFP in his most recent game against the Falcons and has at least three catches in seven of their eight previous contests.

Other Option — Maxx Williams ($3,900)

DST

Stud

Saints DST at Atlanta Falcons, $3,000 — The Saints had six sacks and 7.0 DKFP in their most recent matchup with Atlanta and have at least 4.0 DKFP in five of their past eight meetings. New Orleans doesn’t usually force a ton of turnovers but has totaled an impressive 217 sacks in 112 Madden 21 sims.

Value

Bills DST at Arizona Cardinals, $2,800 — The best DST on this slate at forcing turnovers is definitely the Bills, who have posted a slate-high 5.3 DKFP per sim by piling up 80 takeaways in 102 sims to go with 193 sacks. While Kyler Murray ($7,600) comes loaded with big-play potential he has struggled with turnovers at times and is actually a favorable matchup for Buffalo, who had 5.0 and 10.0 DKFP in their previous meetings.
