Madden Stream Picks: Top DraftKings Fantasy Football DFS Targets, Values for August 3

Zach Thompson gives his top studs and value plays at each position for Tuesday’s three-game Madden Stream DraftKings slate, which starts at 6:00 p.m. ET.

With NFL training camp underway, the season is just around the corner, but if you can’t wait to get back to fantasy football, check out the Madden 21 sims on the DraftKings Dream Stream. On Tuesday, the three-game featured classic slate kicks off at 6:00 p.m. ET with a matchup between the Washington Football Team and the Jacksonville Jaguars. At 8:00 p.m. ET, the primetime matchup features an NFC South clash as the Carolina Panthers visit virtual Raymond James Stadium to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. To wrap up Tuesday’s action, the New York Giants visit the Kansas City Chiefs on Madden After Dark in a rematch of a game from last weekend that resulted in tons of fantasy points and a 42-28 Chiefs win.

As you build your lineups, be sure to consider the depth charts for each team. If you’re looking for gameplay details for these sims, along with the upcoming schedule, head over to the Madden Streams Information Page.

Quarterback

Stud

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Giants, $8,100 — The only QB in the 99 club in Madden 22 is also the only QB with that perfect overall rating in the Madden 21 ratings used for these sims. As a result of that rating and his great offense, Mahomes has averaged 24.9 DKFP on 291.3 passing yards per sim and has thrown an insane 271 touchdowns in 112 Madden 21 sims. Mahomes has tacked on 21 rushing scores as well and had one rushing touchdown, four passing scores and over 400 yards on his way to 41.32 DKFP in that recent matchup against the Giants. He has over 33 DKFP in three straight sims and in six of his past eight, so look for him to keep rolling and put up another dominant performance in this favorable matchup.

Value

Daniel Jones, New York Giants at Kansas City Chiefs, $6,100 — Jones threw four touchdowns in the Giants’ loss to the Chiefs and totaled 23.74 DKFP. He has shown a high ceiling when he gets going and averaged 232 passing yards per sim with 147 passing touchdowns and 13 rushing scores in 99 sims. He has over 21 DKFP in four of his six most recent sims and offers more upside than any other QB on this slate, especially since the Giants will have to air it out to try and keep up with the high-scoring Chiefs.

Other Options — Tom Brady ($6,800), Gardner Minshew II ($5,500)

Running Back

Stud

Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, $7,800 — If you are trying to go away from a straight Chiefs stack, one way to differentiate your lineup is to pay up for a non-Chief at RB. McCaffrey and the Panthers have faced the Bucs 11 times in these Madden 21 sims, and CMC is averaging 17.6 DKFP per meeting with over 25 DKFP in four of those contests. He has had at least five catches in each of his past 10 sims and produced double-digit DKFP in each contest as a result. As long as he stays so heavily targeted, he’s a relatively safe play with a high ceiling.

Other Options — Saquon Barkley ($7,900), J.D.McKissic ($7,300)

Value

LeSean McCoy, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers, $4,300 — On the other side of that primetime matchup, McCoy makes a great cheap play due to his workload as the Bucs’ primary receiving RB. He has averaged 3.1 catches for 22.1 receiving yards per sim and had 20.4 DKFP in his most recent matchup with Carolina. He has at least 8.0 DKFP in each of their eight most recent head-to-head meetings, making him a great salary-saving consideration at just over $4K.

Other Option — Chris Thompson ($6,000)

Wide Receiver

Stud

Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Giants, $8,000 — Hill has been the best WR in Madden 21 with his 99 speed rating and just went off for 12 catches, 233 yards, two touchdowns and 50.3 DKFP against the Giants last weekend. Overall, he is averaging 22.5 DKFP on 6.3 catches for 93.8 yards per sim to go with an astounding 103 touchdown catches in 112 sims. He had 33.5, 21.1 and 36.0 DKFP in his three earlier Madden 21 meetings against the Giants, so they clearly have no answer for him in the secondary, making him a great pick for a monster game once again.

Other Option — Mike Evans ($6,100), DJ Chark Jr. ($5,300)

Value

Terry McLaurin, Washington Football Team at Jacksonville Jaguars, $5,000 — Like Hill, McLaurin is a WR1 that works out of the slot with a good speed rating. The difference is McLaurin doesn’t get consistent QB play so he remains boom-or-bust. He did have six catches for 12.4 DKFP in his previous matchup with Jacksonville and has been good lately with at least four catches in four of his past five sims and at least 13 DKFP in three of those contests.

Scotty Miller, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers, $3,700 — Miller is still the Bucs’ WR3 in these sims since Antonio Brown joined the team after depth charts were locked. Miller has hauled in multiple passes in 13 straight sims and had 20.7 DKFP in one of his recent contests against Carolina. He’s averaging 2.7 catches for 38.3 yards per sim and is a solid play under $4K.

Other Options — Curtis Samuel ($4,600), Dede Westbrook ($4,400), Demarcus Robinson ($4,000)

Tight End

Stud

Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Giants, $6,200 — Even with The Cheetah running wild, Kelce managed to get six catches, a touchdown and 18.3 DKFP against the Giants in his most recent sim and has at least five catches in eight straight. He is averaging 5.6 catches for 66.1 yards per sim and is another matchup nightmare for teams trying to slow down Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Value

Jeremy Sprinkle, Washington Football Team at Jacksonville Jaguars, $4,400 — Washington’s offense is inconsistent, but Sprinkle is one of the most reliable plays as the team’s top TE. He has at least five catches in four of his past five games and had five catches in his first sim against the Jags as well. He’s a solid low-cost, high-volume play if you go cheap at TE or need an affordable FLEX play.

Other Options — Evan Engram ($4,900), Tyler Eifert ($4,100)

DST

Stud

Buccaneers DST vs. Carolina Panthers, $2,900 — The Bucs have given up some big plays in these sims, but they do have an outstanding pass rush that has totaled 271 sacks in 108 sims. They had six sacks and 7.0 DKFP in their most recent matchup with Carolina and are a relatively safe play in this rematch.

Value

Washington Football Team DST at Jacksonville Jaguars, $2,800 — The Football Team has also done a good job picking up sacks with 210 in 102 sims. Washington has created 77 turnovers compared to Tampa Bay’s 51, though, so the Football Team actually comes with more upside than the Bucs due to their potential for big plays against the Jaguars’ struggling offense.
