Madden Stream Picks: Top DraftKings Fantasy Football DFS Targets, Values for August 7

Zach Thompson gives his top studs and value plays at each position for Saturday’s three-game Madden Stream DraftKings slate, which starts at 6:00 p.m. ET.

This Saturday, the DraftKings Dream Stream is ready to roll with another full day of six sims on tap, including a featured classic slate kicking off at 6:00 p.m. ET. The first matchup on that slate is an NFC West showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams. At 8:00 p.m. ET in primetime, the cover athlete of Madden 21 will get in on the action as Lamar Jackson ($8,800) leads his Baltimore Ravens against the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Detroit Lions host the Green Bay Packers in another divisional matchup in the final contest of the day. With those six teams in action, there are lots of different options to consider for your fantasy team.

As you build your lineups, be sure to consider the depth charts for each team. If you’re looking for gameplay details for these sims, along with the upcoming schedule, head over to the Madden Streams Information Page.

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens at Philadelphia Eagles, $8,800 — Jackson has been amazingly productive in these sims, averaging 27.6 DKFP on 106.2 rushing yards per sim with 100 rushing touchdowns in 110 sims to go with his 114 passing touchdowns. In his most recent matchup vs. the Eagles, he had 38.88 DKFP, and he also has over 29 DKFP in four straight and five of his past six sims. No other player offers nearly as high a ceiling, so paying up for Jackson is usually a great place to start your lineup.

Other Options — Russell Wilson ($7,500), Aaron Rodgers ($7,200)

Carson Wentz, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Baltimore Ravens, $6,900 — Wentz is healthy in these sims, unlike in real life, and he has been producing some solid totals lately with multiple touchdown passes and over 19 DKFP in five straight contests. He also had over 17 DKFP in two of his previous three meetings with Jackson’s Ravens, making him the best pivot play if you decide paying up for Jackson is too chalky. Wentz definitely doesn’t offer the rushing potential Jackson brings, but he has averaged 252 passing yards and thrown 201 touchdowns in 103 Madden 21 sims.

Other Options — Matthew Stafford ($6,300)

Running Back

Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions, $8,100 — Throughout these Madden 21 sims, the Lions have been awful against the run, which makes Jones the second-best play at any position on this slate behind only Jackson. Jones had over 14 DKFP in four of his six earlier sims vs. the Lions and has over 18 DKFP in eight of his past nine sims coming into this rematch. Over his past six sims, he has scored 10 total touchdowns, and he should be able to stay hot in this favorable matchup.

Other Option — Miles Sanders ($7,200)

D’Andre Swift, Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers, $4,400 — Swift had at least three catches in five of the six sims in which he has faced Jones’ Packers, and he produced over 11 DKFP in two of those contests. He definitely has the potential to produce a big game as a receiver out of the backfield and has averaged 3.6 catches for 26.8 yards per sim while scoring 21 times in exactly 100 games.

Other Options — Darrell Henderson Jr. ($5,700), Carlos Hyde ($4,000)

Wide Receiver

Davante Adams, Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions, $6,900 — In the soon-to-be-released Madden 22, Adams is a member of the 99 club, but even in Madden 21 he has been very productive with his 94 overall rating. Adams has scored 56 touchdowns in 103 contests while averaging 4.7 catches for 68.3 yards per sim. He has averaged 15.5 DKFP overall and 18.3 DKFP vs. the Lions, highlighted by a 40.6-DKFP performance and four games with at least 15 DKFP.

Other Options — Robert Woods ($6,700), DeSean Jackson ($5,600)

Alshon Jeffery, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Baltimore Ravens, $5,100 — Jeffery has been an underwhelming WR1 for the Eagles for most of Madden 21, but he has turned things around lately with over 20 DKFP in three of his four most recent sims. Jeffery also had at least three catches in each of his three previous matchups vs. the Ravens, including a 20.9-DKFP game that included one of his 42 Madden 21 touchdowns.

Josh Reynolds, Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks, $4,800 — The Rams rely heavily on three-WR sets in Madden 21, and Reynolds gets a big workload as a result. He has averaged 3.9 catches for 52.9 yards per sim and scored 40 times in 100 sims. Against the Seahawks, he had multiple catches in each of their four meetings with over 12 DKFP in two of those contests. His consistent workload and high upside make him a solid play just under $5K.

Other Options — Tyler Lockett ($4,900), Marquez Valdes-Scantling ($4,700), Marquise Goodwin ($4,300)

Tight End

T.J. Hockenson, Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers, $5,100 — Hockenson is in a good spot since the Packers’ strong secondary often forces opponents to rely more on their TE. Hockenson had seven catches and 18.8 DKFP in their most recent meeting, and he has produced at least 13.9 DKFP in five of their six meetings overall, making him one of the most reliable mid-range targets on the slate.

Other Option — Zach Ertz ($5,400)

Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks, $4,500 — Higbee is more inconsistent than Hockenson, but he does have good upside vs. Seattle. He has at least three catches in 10 straight sims and at least four catches in each of his past matchups vs. Seattle. He’s a nice mid-range PPR play either at TE or in the FLEX spot.

Other Options — Marcedes Lewis ($3,600)

Seahawks DST at Los Angeles Rams, $2,900 — The Seahawks have been the most productive fantasy defense in Madden 21, forcing 117 turnovers in 110 sims while also adding 222 sacks and 19 defensive touchdowns. They had 7, 12, 9 and 9 DKFP in their four previous meetings vs. the Rams and are available at a great price under $3K on this slate.

Ravens DST at Philadelphia Eagles, $2,600 — While not as consistent as Seattle’s defense, the Ravens’ defense has had a few big games, including two games of at least 9 DKFP in their three earlier matchups vs. the Eagles. The Ravens have forced only 39 turnovers in 110 sims but have been able to produce 205 sacks.
