Madden Stream Picks: Top DraftKings Fantasy Football DFS Targets, Values for August 9

Zach Thompson gives his top studs and value plays at each position for Monday’s three-game Madden Stream DraftKings slate, which starts at 6:00 p.m. ET.

The DraftKings Dream Stream is ready to provide this week’s Monday Night Football with Madden 21 sims lined up for some fantasy football fun to start the week. The three-game featured classic slate kicks off at 6:00 p.m. ET, as usual, and this Monday it starts with a matchup of dynamic QBs as Lamar Jackson ($9,000) and Kyler Murray ($7,800) go head to head when the Baltimore Ravens visit the Arizona Cardinals. At 8:00 p.m. ET, the primetime matchup features the Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars. At 10:00 p.m. ET on Madden After Dark, the Dallas Cowboys head to the virtual Big Apple to take on the New York Jets in the final sim of the night.

As you build your lineups, be sure to consider the depth charts for each team. If you’re looking for gameplay details for these sims, along with the upcoming schedule, head over to the Madden Streams Information Page.

Quarterback

Stud

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens at Arizona Cardinals, $8,400 — Jackson has been the top producer in all of Madden 21, averaging 27.7 DKFP per game while running for 106.3 yards and passing for 151.9 more yards over his 111 sims. He hasn’t faced the Cardinals yet in these Madden sims, but Arizona’s defense has been very beatable, which could lead to another monster game for Jackson. He comes in on a great roll, producing over 29 DKFP in five straight and six of his past seven.

Other Option — Kyler Murray ($7,800)

Value

Sam Darnold, New York Jets vs. Dallas Cowboys, $5,700 — In another matchup that hasn’t happened in Madden 21 yet, Darnold and the Jets have a favorable matchup against the Cowboys’ defense. Darnold has been boom-or-bust throughout the sims but has a lot of upside for an option available under $6K. He showed that upside by throwing for 318 yards and 20.12 DKFP against the Falcons in his most recent sim and has posted over 20 DKFP in three of his past five games.

Other Options — Gardner Minshew II ($5,400)

Running Back

Stud

Miles Sanders, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, $7,500 — Sanders is an all-purpose workhorse back for the Eagles and regularly contributes as a receiver out of the backfield. He has totaled 84 touchdowns in 104 sims while averaging 62.8 rushing yards and 3.4 catches for 25.2 receiving yards per sim. He’s relatively low-risk since he has at least 12 DKFP in seven straight and also had 12.9 and 19.7 DKFP in his two earlier matchups against the Jags’ porous run defense

Other Options — Ezekiel Elliott ($7,700), Le’Veon Bell ($6,800)

Value

J.K. Dobbins, Baltimore Ravens at Arizona Cardinals, $4,500 — The Ravens are the only one of the six teams on this slate who use a timeshare in the backfield, so targeting Dobbins is a great way to save salary at RB and still get production. Dobbins is the third-down and power back for Baltimore, and he has averaged 7.2 DKFP in his 106 sims with 25 touchdowns and 2.2 catches per sim. Dobbins does lose short-yardage work to Jackson and Mark Ingram ($3,700) but is still the best value RB available.

Wide Receiver

Stud

Amari Cooper, Dallas Cowboys at New York Jets, $6,600 — Cooper is the only WR on this slate averaging over 15 DKFP and the only option with a price tag over $6K. He has produced 16.1 DKFP on 4.4 catches for 72.4 yards per sim and scored 63 touchdowns in 101 sims. He has five touchdowns over his past five games and has performances of 27.1 and 35.1 DKFP over that span.

Other Options — DeAndre Hopkins ($5,800), DeSean Jackson ($5,600), DJ Chark Jr. ($5,400)

Value

Dede Westbrook, Jacksonville Jaguars at Philadelphia Eagles, $4,400 — Westbrook has offered steady production as the Jags’ primary slot receiver in these sims, averaging 10.4 DKFP on 3.7 catches for 47.0 yards per sim with 28 touchdowns in 102 games. He had nine catches in one of his two prior matchups against Philadelphia and brings that kind of PPR upside to this rematch as well.

Chris Hogan, New York Jets vs. Dallas Cowboys, $4,000 — Hogan has at least three catches in four of his past five sims and has scored three touchdowns during that run, resulting in over 11 DKFP in three of his four most recent contests. He doesn’t have quite as high a ceiling as the other options highlighted here, but he is fairly reliable and can be a great value at only $4K.

Other Options — Marquise Brown ($4,600), Marquise Goodwin ($4,500)

Tight End

Stud

Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, $5,600 — Ertz has remained one of the best TE plays in all of Madden 21 due to his strong connection with Carson Wentz ($6,800). That connection has resulted in 5.4 catches for 56.8 yards per sim and a total of 45 touchdowns in 102 contests. The Jaguars have been a great TE matchup and allowed Ertz to put up 12.4 and 24.4 DKFP in their two earlier meetings.

Other Option — Chris Herndon IV ($4,600)

Value

Blake Jarwin, Dallas Cowboys at New York Jets, $4,200 — His potential breakthrough season last year was derailed by injury, but he still has had a great year in simland, averaging 4.1 catches, 48.4 yards and 10.6 DKFP per game. He has at least three catches in six straight games and has had big games of 12.1, 13.4 and 30.2 DKFP during that stretch.

Other Options — Tyler Eifert ($4,300)

DST

Stud

Ravens DST at Arizona Cardinals, $3,100 — The Ravens have nice upside since Murray can be turnover-prone at times if he runs around too much. In their 111 sims, the Ravens have totaled 39 takeaways to go with 209 sacks and nine defensive touchdowns. While those numbers aren’t quite elite, they are among the best available on this slate, especially with the potential upside in their matchup.

Value

Eagles DST vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, $2,700 — The Eagles are the cheapest available DST but have been decent with 39 takeaways and 187 sacks in 104 sims. They had four sacks and 8.0 DKFP in their most recent matchup with the Jags after posting 4.0 DKFP in their first meeting. It’s a good enough matchup to consider using them as a punt play and spending up for more offensive star power.
