Jameis Winston does it again! He throws another interception to start the game but ties game before half, 17-17 with TD pass

Jameis Winston can’t get over his muscle-memory of throwing an early interception. This time it came against the Texans on Winston’s first pass and was returned for a touchdown by Bradley Roby. Tampa Bay is actually 4-1 after throwing an interception on the first drive. That doesn’t mean it is a preferred tactic of course but this offense can right the ship quickly.

UPDATE

Wow, Winston throws another interception on his next drive. The ball was returned for a touchdown by Justin Reid but a blocking penalty called the touchdown back. The Texans have great field position as they get their first offensive possession of the game.

UPDATE

And another interception for Winston, this one by Jonathan Joseph with 14 minutes left in the second quarter. Winston is on pace for 10ish interceptions now.

UPDATE

Despite three interceptions, the Buccaneers have held steady defensively and scored on their last two possessions of the half. The last touchdown comes after a DeShaun Watson interception, which then allowed Winston to go 39-yards in 29 seconds, completing a short touchdown to Justin Watson to tie the game before half, 17-17

UPDATE

Winston ended up throwing for 335 yards and a touchdown but also four total picks, including a back breaker as they drove with under two minutes left down three points. This loss is squarely on his shoulders and the Texans should send him a nice fruit basket or maybe some crab legs.

Drew Brees and the Saints embarrass the Colts in the Big Easy.

Drew Brees was spectacular on Monday night, completing 29-of-30 passes for 307 yards and four touchdowns against the out-classed Indianapolis Colts. The Saints move to 11-3, keeping pace with the Packers but still stuck in the No. 3 playoff seed.

The Colts didn’t have much of a chance to make the playoffs, even if they could have beaten the Saints, but now they are officially eliminated. Jacoby Brissett was awful all evening. He couldn’t hit open receivers despite time to throw and ended the game completing 18-of-34 passes for 165 yards.

Drew Brees, on the other hand, set multiple records with his great statistical night. He needed three touchdowns to break Peyton Manning’s touchdown record and he ended up throwing four, to give him 541 to Manning’s 539 and Tom Brady’s 538.

The 40-year old Brees also broke the record for best pass completion percentage, as he completed 29-of-30 passes (96.7 percent) while Philip Rivers held the record with a 28-of-29 day against the Cardinals last season.

The Saints will need help to move up in the playoff seeding and that would most likely come next Monday night when the Vikings host the Packers. If the Vikings can take down the Packers, the Saints would move ahead of them to the No. 2 seed if they can take care of the Titans next week. They can move up to the No. 1 seed if Seattle can defeat the 49ers in Week 17 and the Saints defeat the Panthers in the season finale. None of that is too far fetched, so expect Brees and company to keep pressing on the gas.

Drew Brees continues his assault on the record books, this time topping Peyton Manning’s TD record.

Drew Brees continues his assault on the record book, as he tosses his 540th touchdown, breaking Peyton Manning’s record. His third touchdown of the night and record breaker went to tight end Josh Hill.

Brees amazingly is 27-of-28 for 281 yards with touchdown passes to Hill, Michael Thomas and Tre’Quan Smith. He has been absolutely unstoppable all game. His main target has been Thomas, who has caught 11-of-11 targets for 130 yards and a touchdown as he marches his way to the record for most receptions in a season.

Tom Brady remains in the hunt for the all-time touchdown record, as he has 538, but the way he’s playing and with the receivers he has right now, Brees should be able to pull away from Brady as the Saints try to garner a No. 2 seed and a bye week for the playoffs.

The receiver hasn’t played since Week 12 when he was on a pitch count with his calf injury.
The players who lose the most from his return are wide receivers Zach Pascal and Marcus Johnson. Last week, both Johnson and Pascal had big games in a shootout with the Buccaneers, as they led the team in targets, yards and touchdowns with Hilton out. Hilton will likely see CB Marcus Lattimore the most, which could help Pascal or Johnson remain relevant this week, but the target pie just got a big piece lopped out onto Hilton’s plate.

Need some last minute start/sit advice? Fantasy points projections can help, and we’ve got them for Week 15 Monday Night Football.

UPDATE: T.Y. Hilton is expected to be active, per Adam Schefter. ESPN projects him to score 11.5 points in 0.5 PPR leagues.

Both teams need all the wins they can get, so we should get a strong effort out of each club. Of course, the Colts are in dire straits and need to win out to even have a chance at the playoffs but that chance is there and they’ll give it their all.

The Saints, like all teams, would rather get a week off and a better chance at playing at home, so they will have plenty to play for on Monday night as well.

Matchups are crucial, but it helps to see what the analytics are saying about potential performances. Looking at ESPN fantasy projections, there are plenty of start/sit decisions to consider for both teams.

Both of these defenses have scuffled of late, so there’s a real chance both teams can put up useful fantasy numbers. The Colts really could use T.Y.
The Colts and Saints square off with Michael Thomas on track for a record season.
The New Orleans Saints host the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football in what could be a fun shootout. The Colts will be without cornerback Kenny Moore, and Pierre Desir is questionable for the game. The Saints will be without safety Vonn Bell and linebacker Kiko Alonso, and placed defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins and defensive end Marcus Davenport on injured reserve this week.

Let’s look at some players to target in DraftKings’ $1,111,111 six-man Showdown slate — with an entry fee of $10 and a first-place prize of $250,000 — and who to use in the critical Captain slot.

Captain Obvious

WR Michael Thomas ($18,900)

Thomas is on pace to set the single season reception record, and Drew Brees is going to keep on feeding him. Facing a shorthanded Colts defense, it could be a feasting opportunity for Thomas. He’s had double digit receptions in seven of 13 games this season. The one downside is the obvious nature of him — even with the highest price tag on the night, he is going to be a hugely popular play.

Captain Courageous

RB Alvin Kamara ($14,700)

For most teams, Kamara would be Captain Obvious, but considering Thomas is out there, he’s not the same obvious choice. Frankly, anybody but Thomas is the non-obvious choice. Kamara has been targeted ten times in three different games this season, and has averaged just over eight targets per game each of his past ten games. He’ll be busy in the passing game, which offers a nice boost.

Flex Men

WRs Zach Pascal ($8,000)/Marcus Johnson ($5,200)

The biggest question for Indianapolis is whether or not T.Y. Hilton is active. If he is active, Pascal is likely the second best option. If Hilton is inactive, Johnson moves into the starting lineup, and for the price offers more value. The past two weeks, Pascal has 20.4 and 20.9 DraftKings fantasy points, while Johnson has 22.5 and 9.5 DKFP. They face a Saints defense that ranks 24th against wide receivers. This is a choice opportunity.

TE Jared Cook ($6,800)

Cook scored two touchdowns on his only two targets last week before leaving the game with a concussion. He cleared through the concussion protocol this week in short order and has a chance to build on a strong recent run. He has scored double digit DKFP in his past seven games and seems to be back on track after a slow start. If you don’t want to start both Cook and Thomas, you could stack either with Drew Brees and be in good shape.

The Indianapolis Colts have not yet made a decision on wide receiver T.Y. Hilton for Week 15 Monday Night Football, but NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport is hearing the team “think[s] they have a good shot of having” Hilton available against the New Orleans Saints.

Rapoport said that in spite of limited work this week, Hilton “is at least trending in the right direction.” The Colts want to see how he looks in pre-game workouts before making the final call.

It’s easy to be skeptical about this report. Hilton practiced in limited fashion on Thursday and Friday, but then was a DNP on Saturday. It could have just been a rest day, but that does not suggest the right trend.

Head coach Frank Reich said Hilton would only play if he was 100 percent. That’s obviously not really likely at this point in the season for even a healthy player. The Colts do need a win tonight to stay alive in the playoff race, but given how Hilton looked in Week 12 when he tried going on the injured calf, I would think they’d want to be cautious with their star receiver.

Inactives will be released at 6:45 p.m. ET. We likely will not know Hilton’s status for sure until close to that time.

Cornerback Pierre Desir and wide receiver T.Y. Hilton are both listed as questionable on the final injury report.

Desir is dealing with a groin injury. He was limited at practice on Thursday and Friday, and then a full participant on Saturday. He is trending in the right direction, so should be good to go Monday evening.

Hilton is dealing with a calf injury. He was limited on Thursday and Friday, but then sat out Saturday’s practice, which has him trending in the wrong direction. Head coach Frank Reich said on Saturday that Hilton will be a game-time decision. More importantly, Reich said that Hilton would only play if he was 100 percent, and he would not have a pitch count if he did play, according to beat writer Kevin Bowen.
