If you were taking part in Super Bowl squares, we’ve got the full results.

The 2020 Super Bowl is officially behind us. The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 thanks to a big fourth quarter comeback. There were plenty of fun ways to follow the game, including Super Bowl Squares. If you were playing along, here’s a rundown of quarter-by-quarter results.

1st quarter: Chiefs 7, 49ers 3

The quarter was highlighted by Patrick Mahomes rushing in a one-yard touchdown. The Chiefs square was 7 and the 49ers square was 3.

2nd quarter: Chiefs 10, 49ers 10

The 49ers bounced back on the back of a Kyle Juszczyk 15-yard touchdown reception. The Chiefs square was 0 and the 49ers square was 0.

3rd quarter: Chiefs 10, 49ers 20

The 49ers controlled the third quarter with a Robbie Gould field goal and a Raheem Mostert 1-yard touchdown run. Congrats if you had 0/0 in Super Bowl squares because you got it again.

4th quarter: Chiefs 31, 49ers 20

The Chiefs blew out the 49ers in the fourth quarter, scoring 21 unanswered points on a Travis Kelce one-yard touchdown catch, a Damien Williams five-yard touchdown catch, and a Williams 38-yard touchdown run. The Chiefs square was 1 and the 49ers square was 0.

Some of the best moments around Super Bowl 54 weren’t between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Kansas City Chiefs are your 2020 Super Bowl champions after beating the San Francisco 49ers 31-20. We’ve got the biggest moments on the field.

Super Bowl 54 ended up being a classic, with the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Miami for KC’s first Super Bowl victory in five decades. Both teams made some terrific plays throughout the game, but only one could win. We’ll highlight 12 of the best here that led to such an entertaining conclusion to the 2019 season.

1. Deebo Samuel’s scramble early

One of the surprises of the game was Samuel getting so many rushing opportunities. His over/under for total rushing yards was just 13.5, but he went well over that early in the first quarter on this one. He ended up with three carries for 53 yards total.

2. A big hit on Patrick Mahomes in the first 1st quarter

The Chiefs did end up scoring a TD here, but on 3rd and 11 in the red zone Mahomes actually did pick up the first down... but the big lick from Jimmie Ward forced the Chiefs QB to fumble with the ball going out of bounds behind the marker.

We keep tabs on Sammy Watkins’ performance and prop bet progress during Super Bowl 54.

Super Bowl 54 fourth quarter recap

Watkins came just short of 100 receiving yards, but it was still a solid game for him. He finished with five catches for 98 yards and 14.8 DKFP. Watkins talked about not playing football in 2020 during the week, but he might chance his mind after playing a key role in the Chiefs’ Super Bowl win.

Super Bowl 54 third quarter recap

Once again, Watkins is having a solid game. After going over 100 yards, last week, he’s Kansas City’s leading receiver in the Super Bowl. Watkins is up to four catches for 60 yards.

Super Bowl 54 second quarter recap

After not being involved in the first quarter, Watkins played a big role on a scoring drive early in the second quarter. He caught two passes for 32 yards on the drive, leading to a field goal.

Super Bowl 54 first quarter recap

There isn’t much to say about Watkins in the first quarter. He didn’t have a catch and wasn’t targeted. So far, it looks like he is going to be much less involved in the offense than he was during the AFC Championship Game.

The Kansas City Chiefs will count on their dynamic passing attack to be the driving force behind their offense against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 54. Patrick Mahomes has a plethora of weapons at wide receiver and running back, and should spread the ball around plenty. Sammy Watkins unexpectedly stole the show in the AFC title game, but will he receive just as much attention on the world’s biggest stage?

Watkins tallied seven receptions for 114 yard and a touchdown in his last appearance, and that was his first score since his three-touchdown outing in Week 1. Patrick Mahomes picked Watkins out as his favorite target against the Titans and threw him 10 balls — the most he’s seen since Week 9. Does this spike in production mean he’ll be a more prominent part of the offense moving forward?

Watkins has stepped it up and is averaging 95 receiving yards per game this postseason. If he keeps up this pace, he could be one of Sunday’s top performers. We’ll be tracking the betting odds on his numbers for the game here:

We run down how the game wrapped up for Super Bowl squares participants.

The fourth quarter didn’t get off to a great start for the Chiefs. Facing a 10-point deficit, they were moving down the field until Mahomes threw his second interception of the night. He hadn’t thrown an interception in the playoffs or had a game with multiple interceptions all season.

After the 49ers’ had a drive stall, the Chiefs got the ball back and Mahomes put together his best drive of the game. The big play was a 44-yard pass to Tyreek Hill, which put him over his receiving props for the game. After a pass interference in the end zone, Mahomes found Kelce on a one-yard strike to bring the Chiefs to within three points of San Francisco.

The tide of this game turned pretty quickly after the Chiefs cut the lead to make it a one possession game. Their defense was able to hold the 49ers’ offense, setting up the Chiefs for a chance to take the lead. They went down the field with ease, scoring a touchdown on a short pass to Damien Williams. The drive only took two minutes and 26 seconds and put Kansas City on top for the first time since the first quarter.

The 49ers got the ball back and once again stalled out. Garoppolo was sacked on a fourth down attempt, giving the Chiefs the ball back on the 49ers’ 42-yard line. After the turnover on downs, Damien Williams rumbled for a 38-yard touchdown run. This was essentially the dagger and the game was officially over when San Francisco got the ball back and Garoppolo threw his second interception of the game. Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs are Super Bowl champions!

The 49ers scored twice in the third quarter to take a 20-10 lead into the final frame of the 2020 Super Bowl.

The 49ers opened up the second half driving down the field without much resistance. Unfortunately for San Francisco and over bettors, the drive stalled out deep in Chiefs’ territory and the Niners had to settle for a field goal. Robbie Gould put his second field goal of the game through the uprights, putting them on top 13-10.

After recovering his own fumble on a strip sack by Nick Bosa, Mahomes tossed an interception over the middle on the very next play, setting up the 49ers close to midfield. They marched down the field and capped the drive with a one-yard touchdown by Raheem Mostert. This was the final score of the quarter and the 49ers are up 20-10 heading into the fourth.

We keep tabs on Emmanuel Sanders’ performance and prop bet progress during Super Bowl 54.

Super Bowl 54 fourth quarter recap

Like most of the team, Sanders didn’t get anything going in the fourth quarter. He was held without a catch, meaning he failed to hit the over on his yards and receptions props. Sanders finished with a disappointing 6.8 DKFP.

Super Bowl 54 third quarter recap

Sanders got off to a quick start in the second half. The 49ers’ first two plays of the half went to Sanders and he brought in catches on both the targets. He didn’t pull in any more catches, but he’s just a catch and a couple yards away from hitting his yards and receptions props.

Super Bowl 54 second quarter recap

No action for Sanders in the second quarter. He didn’t have any receptions or targets.

Super Bowl 54 first quarter recap

Sanders didn’t see a ton of action in the first quarter. He had one catch for 18 yards on his only target. Even so, his prop totals are pretty modest, so this puts him on pace to hit the over for his yards and receptions.

Emmanuel Sanders rehabbed an Achilles injury last season, which is one of the toughest injuries to return from and play like your old self, but Sanders started the season strong while with the Broncos, but after Week 7, a sinking Denver team traded Sanders to the wide receiver needy 49ers for draft picks.

Sanders quickly made a strong impression, scoring a touchdown in his first game with San Francisco and then topping 100 yards receiving and grabbing another touchdown in his second game. A ribs injury slowed him down after that but he didn’t miss a game, and by a quirk of the two teams’ scheduling, Sanders ended up playing in 17 regular season games.

Now in his 20th game, he’ll try for his second Super Bowl ring of his career, the first coming with the Broncos when they defeated the Panthers. Sanders had a strong game, leading all receivers in yards. In these playoffs, Sanders hasn’t been asked to do much as the 49ers have rolled over their competition on the ground, but there’s a good chance he’ll be more involved in this final matchup.

We keep tabs on Matt Breida’s performance and prop bet progress during Super Bowl 54.

The San Francisco 49ers have are expected to use the ground game as their primary weapon against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 54. Their options include Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman — who have each reached the century mark in a game this season. Matt Breida is a wild card though and will be the 49ers’ third back.

Breida has rushed for more than 100 yards in a game twice this year, but has only reached the end zone twice — despite racking up 643 yards on the ground. He hasn’t reached double-digits in carries since Week 10. But if Tevin Coleman struggles in his return from a dislocated shoulder, Breida could be bumped up to a backup spot.

Breida averaged 5.1 yards per carry during the regular season, but that figure has dropped to just over two yards per carry in the postseason. We’ll be tracking his performance and prop bet progress for Super Bowl 54 here.

Super Bowl 54 second quarter recap

Breida did not record a touch in the second quarter and went into halftime with no fantasy points. Tevin Coleman, Raheem Mostert, Kyle Juszczyk and Jeff Wilson Jr. have all recorded touches out of the 49ers’ backfield before Breida.

Super Bowl 54 third quarter recap

Breida did not record a touch in the third quarter and went into the fourth quarter with a fantasy goose egg. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk led fantasy scoring for 49ers RBs to this point with 12.90 DKFP, and halfback Raheem Mostert got into the end zone in the third quarter to take his fantasy total to 10.10 DKFP. It’s not looking good for Breida heading into the fourth quarter.

Super Bowl 54 fourth quarter recap
