We go over Jonnu Smith’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Titans Week 10 matchup against the Colts on Thursday Night Football.

Jonnu Smith is the seventh ranked fantasy tight end this season, averaging 11.3 points per game. This fact alone provides a clear picture of the difficulty in rostering a reliable and high scoring tight end this season. Smith has a particularly tough match-up this week against a Colts defense that has allowed the second fewest fantasy PPR points to opposing tight ends this season. Does he still belong in your starting lineups or is the matchup too scary? We break down the fantasy analysis below.

The Colts have allowed a measly average of 7.6 fantasy PPR points to opposing tight ends this season. Smith will have his work cut out for him this weekend and though he should be expected to score less this his 11.3 point average, odds are you can’t afford to bench him even despite the tough match up. With a fantasy value drought at the tight end position, Smith can still be started as a low end TE1 this week.

A.J. Brown is the 6th ranked wide receiver on the season in terms of scoring, averaging 18.8 fantasy points per game. He has received no fewer than seven targets in any game so far this season and is a favorite of Ryan Tannehill’s. Despite the tough matchup, Brown belongs in lineups as a high end WR2 this week.

Corey Davis found his way back to fantasy relevance this season, averaging 14 points per game and receiving five or more targets in every game through Week 8. He had a disappointing Week 9 in which he received only three targets for no receptions, but this was his only poor outing of the season. He has a difficult matchup in Week 10 but will look to improve upon his Week 9 goose egg. His upside is limited but he can still be considered a low end flex, particularly in deeper leagues.

While Tannehill can be relied upon as a starter most weeks, there may be better options out there this week.
We go over the fantasy football outlook for the Colts tight ends ahead of their Week 10 matchup against the Titans on Thursday Night Football.

It’s rare that there are three tight ends on a single team to consider for fantasy purposes, but this is where we we have been with the Colts offense. It’s tough to keep track of who is the top dog at the position with the various injuries each of these three tight ends have suffered over the course of this season, but the Colts like to use their tight ends so value is bound to be found among the trio.

Who is most likely to stay healthy through the whole game and help your fantasy team in Week 10? We break down the fantasy analysis below.

Fantasy Football analysis: Colts TEs Jack Doyle, Trey Burton, Mo Alie-Cox

The Titans allow the 12th most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this season and the Colts tight ends will look to benefit from this generous defense this week. Unfortunately for Jack Doyle, he will not get in on the action on Thursday night, as he remains in the league’s concussion protocol since he went down against the Ravens in Week 9. The team formally ruled him out on Wednesday.

The next man up for the Colts is Mo Alie-Cox, who has shown promise at various points this season, particularly in Weeks 2 and 3 when Burton and Doyle were both dealing with injuries. Unfortunately, Alie-Cox appears to be dealing with an injury of his own at this time. He has been limited with a knee injury this week, but looks to be trending in the right direction for Thursday night. He’s listed as questionable on the final injury report. He can’t be expected to be as valuable as he was earlier this season, given Burton’s presence will cut into his workload. Even with a plus match-up, Alie-Cox is no more than a TE2 this week.

Trey Burton spent the beginning of this season on the sidelines, and since his return in Week 4 he has played an inconsistent role in the offense. Burton had his best week in Week 6 when he had four receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown while adding a rushing touchdown for a total of 21.6 fantasy points. Now that we mentioned the ceiling we must also mention the floor, which we saw in Week 9 when Burton brought in only one reception for six yards. As the only fully healthy Colts tight end in a plus matchup, Burton provides the best value of this group and can be considered a low end TE1/high end TE2 for Week 10. He deserves a start in most formats.

Rookie wideout Michael Pittman Jr. returned to action in Week 8 after a several week absence due to injury. Pittman was irrelevant in Week 8, but received seven targets for four receptions and 56 yards in Week 9. Pittman is a big endzone target and could easily put up a solid fantasy day if he were able to find pay dirt this week. With that being said, fantasy owners shouldn’t bank on a touchdown dependent receiver in a crowded offense to save their team. If you’re feeling risky and going to take a gamble on any Colts receiver this week, he may be your best bet, but for the most part Pittman is a wait and see bench stash until he establishes a larger workload in this offense.

Marcus Johnson tied Michael Pittman Jr.’s target total in Week 9, with 7, but he was only able to haul in two of those targets for 14 yards. Johnson had a big 15.8 point performance in Week 6, but otherwise has played a minor role and failed to reach double digit scoring this season. He hasn’t demonstrated the reliability required to feel comfortable inserting him in your starting lineups and is best left on the bench this week.

Zach Pascal may be the most consistent member of the Colts wideouts this season, but unfortunately that’s not saying a lot. Pascal has averaged five targets and 8.2 fantasy points per game this season, always teetering on the edge of fantasy relevance, but never solidifying his spot in every week lineups. Pascal has a plus matchup this week, but his mediocre performances throughout the season even in the absence of fellow wide receivers may make him tough to start when everyone is healthy, even in a plus match-up. He too belongs on the bench this week.

Fantasy Football analysis: Colts RBs Jonathan Taylor, Jordan Wilkins

Jonathan Taylor seemed to have a good grasp on the lead back position earlier this season, but Jordan Wilkins has been slowly eating into Taylor’s workload lately. Over the past two games Wilkins has seen 31 carries to Taylor’s 17. Taylor averaged 14.5 points per game over his first six games of the season, but since Wilkins began receiving an increased workload, Taylor has averaged only 5.8 fantasy points. The Titans allow the 11th highest average fantasy points per game to opposing teams’ running backs at 21.1. Unfortunately with Wilkins cutting into his workload, Taylor has lost significant value from earlier this season and is now more of a low end RB2. Despite his reduced value, he is still start-able and belongs in most standard lineups.

Jordan Wilkins has worked his way into fantasy relevance as he received 31 carries over the last two games. That is an impressive increase in workload, as Wilkins received only 29 carries over the first six games of the season. With his value continuing to rise and with four teams on bye this week, Wilkins is worth consideration for your starting lineup as a flex play. The Colts appear willing to use him in the passing game as well, which boosts his upside in PPR leagues.
