Other than them, the Chiefs should be okay on the injury front.

We break down the betting splits for Steelers-Chiefs in the AFC Wild Card round of the 2022 NFL Playoffs.

In the last game on Sunday, we have the No. 7 seed Pittsburgh Steelers taking on the No. 2 seed Kansas City Chiefs at 8:15 p.m. ET on NBC. These two teams played each other last month, where the Chiefs defeated the Steelers 36-10 at Arrowhead.

The Steelers (9-7-1) found their way into the playoffs thanks to a lot of things going their way last week. Pittsburgh defeated the Ravens in overtime, while the Colts lost to the Jaguars on the road. Then to end the night, the Raiders took down the Chargers in overtime, giving the Steelers their second chance at Kansas City.

The Chiefs (12-5) ended the regular season with a hard-fought road win against the Denver Broncos and winners of four out of their last five games. Kansas City had a chance to get the first seed in the AFC, but that went to the Tennessee Titans, who defeated the Houston Texans last Sunday.

So where are sports bettors going as we get closer to game time? Let’s take a look at betting splits for the Steelers-Chiefs Wild Card matchup as of game day. All odds and info were provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.

Point Spread

The Chiefs are 12.5-point favorites. 64% of the handle and 53% bets are on the Chiefs to cover.

Is the public right?

The public loves the Chiefs to cover this double-digit spread tonight, who are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games and 2-2 ATS when the spread is more than 10 points this season.

The Steelers will give it their best shot, but their offense may be limited with rookie running back Najee Harris banged up. However, they are getting back Juju Smith-Schuster, which is a major addition to the passing game. Pittsburgh is 4-2 ATS in their last six games, but 4-4 ATS when they are road underdog. The Steelers don’t have the players at cornerback to stay with the Chiefs’ wide receivers, making this a relatively easy cover.

Over/Under

Total points are installed at 46. 57% of the handle and 63% of the bets are on the over.

Is the public right?

It does not come as a surprise to see the public backing the over as we’ve seen this Chiefs team score 40-plus points by themselves. Kansas City is averaging 35.4 points per game in their last five games. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh is averaging 19.8 points per game in their last five games.

However, the Steelers’ defense is giving up 27.5 points per game away from Heinz Field this season. If the Chiefs’ offense is clicking, then this total is definitely going over.

Moneyline

The Chiefs are -760 to win while the Steelers are +525. 77% of handle and 79% of bets are on the Chiefs.

Is the public right?

Kansas City was dominant at home this season, winning their last seven games at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The last time the Chiefs lost at home was on Oct. 10 against the Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs will look to get their passing game going against Pittsburgh and on the other end, make sure they keep T.J. Watt contained.

We go over the fantasy football and DFS outlook of Travis Kelce ahead of the Chiefs Wild Card matchup against the Steelers in the 2022 NFL Playoffs.

Normally, Travis Kelce is a no-brainer (he still is), but he had a rather pedestrian fantasy football season. I mean, he finished as the overall TE2 in half-PPR scoring for crying out loud. Time to write him off into the sunset right?

Sarcasm aside, Kelce still is the favorite target for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He is still a versatile receiver that can help spread the field and be a reliable first-down look. He seems to be healthy heading into the playoffs so you can be confident that he will retain his usual volume in this high octane offense. With the Chiefs missing out on their starting running back, that just increases the chance that Mahomes looks Kelce’s way.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs TE Travis Kelce ($6700)

Kelce is going to be the most expensive tight end for DFS and that should shock nobody. The price tag isn’t even as bad as it could be, so you will likely see a lot of Kelce in the tight end spot for DFS lineups. For playoff fantasy football leagues, the Chiefs have a good shot to at least play two games in the playoffs so Kelce certainly has value for your lineup.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Don’t overthink Kelce and START him.

We go over the fantasy football and DFS outlook of Byron Pringle ahead of the Chiefs Wild Card matchup against the Steelers in the 2022 NFL Playoffs.

Being a wide receiver in the Kansas City Chiefs offense comes with a decent floor. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes spreads the ball around that there is still volume for his second and third-string wide receivers. Enter, Byron Pringle. He is primarily a special teams contributor, but the Chiefs have started using Pringle in some interesting formations in the receiving game.

Pringle has developed into a pseudo-redzone threat for the Chiefs offense. When they took on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16, Pringle had six receptions on seven targets for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Whether he is benefiting from defenses keying in on the likes of Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, or if he is just earning more targets, Pringle seems to be catching Mahomes’ eye more and that spells value.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs WR Byron Pringle ($3900)

Pringle has a low cost for DFS this weekend due to the lack of consistency in his usage and outings. In the short-term, Pringle takes on the Steelers' defense again and with their giving up the ninth-fewest points per game to opposing wide receivers, Pringle may benefit from the Steelers paying attention to Hill and Kelce.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

For the long-term, if the Chiefs advance, Pringle has a decent enough floor that he is a decent sleeper for your DFS and playoff fantasy football lineups. Worthy of a look as a FLEX.

We go over the fantasy football and DFS outlook of Mecole Hardman ahead of the Chiefs Wild Card matchup against the Steelers in the 2022 NFL Playoffs.

The benefit of being part of the Kansas City Chiefs offense is that your value is elevated at any given time due to the presence of Patrick Mahomes. While wide receiver Mecole Hardman hasn’t exactly panned out as the dominant WR2 the Chiefs were hoping for, he is a versatile component of the offense.

Hardman is used in a variety of formations and looks in the offense and he will often have as many rushes as he does receptions in games. He is third at best for targets in the Chiefs offense, but again, that still carries value with it. Whether you are playing DFS or playoff fantasy football, Hardman is likely on your radar because of the offense and the chance for either Travis Kelce or Tyreek Hill to go down with an injury.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman ($4100)

In the short-term, Hardman and the Chiefs take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round this weekend. Their defense is giving up the ninth-fewest points to opposing wide receivers. When these teams met in Week 16, Hardman brought in three of his five targets for 31 yards including a trip to the endzone. At least in the first round, Hardman has some value and his floor should sustain as long as the Chiefs remain in the playoffs.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Decent value at his cost, but you can look to FLEX Hardman for Wild Card weekend.

We go over the fantasy football and DFS outlook of Tyreek Hill ahead of the Chiefs Wild Card matchup against the Steelers in the 2022 NFL Playoffs.

The Kansas City Chiefs have to be happy that wide receiver Tyreek Hill doesn’t have an injury designation for their Wild Card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Hill didn’t look himself in the team’s regular-season finale and if he is banged up it would have impacted his DFS and playoff fantasy football value.

Hill is one of the most electric parts of this dominant Chiefs offense. Without him, this receiving corps takes a huge step back even with Patrick Mahomes under center. Hill is going to carry quite the price tag for your DFS lineup, but if he can stay healthy he will make it worth it. With the Chiefs missing their starting running back, look for Mahomes to involve Hill on those dangerous short routes that Hill is so good at.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill ($7300)

In the short-term, the Steelers are giving up the ninth-fewest DFS points to opposing wide receivers. This matchup shouldn’t worry you with the upside that Hill brings. He only had two receptions for 19 yards against the Steelers when they met in Week 16, but he was banged up heading into that game. Elevate your expectations in this one.

We go over the fantasy football and DFS outlook of Derrick Gore ahead of the Chiefs Wild Card matchup against the Steelers in the 2022 NFL Playoffs.

The NFL playoffs are here as we head into Wild Card weekend for the first round of the playoffs. Whether you are playing DFS this weekend or if you are playing playoff fantasy football, you likely have your eye on the Kansas City Chiefs running back Derrick Gore.

Starting running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has already been ruled out of the game and whenever he has missed game action this season, Gore has factored into the running back by committee in the backfield. Gore has shown that he can break off a big run at any time and he has upside in the passing game. When Gore faced off against the Pittsburgh Steelers defense in Week 16, he ran 12 times for 43 yards and added three receptions for 61 more yards receiving.

When you are looking at playoff fantasy football, you have to think about their potential full slate for the playoffs, but it is hard not to like Gore’s first-round matchup. The Steelers are horrible against the run and whether it is DFS or for fantasy football, you should definitely look Gore’s way.
