UPDATE 3:00 p.m.: If this fight is to happen, Conor McGregor would be a massive favorite to win.
With two simple words, Conor McGregor kicked off plenty of speculation about a super fight with Anderson Silva that would set the MMA world ablaze.

A fight between the 31-year-old McGregor (22-4) and 45-year-old Silva (34-10) would likely favor the man with more success as of late, as “Spider” has won exactly one of his last eight fights. There are six losses and an overturned win for a positive steroids test that became a no contest in 2015.
The proposed catchweight of 176 wouldn’t seem to be an issue, but the age and recent track record of Silva might be. Ever since he broke his leg in 2013 via one of the most gruesome injuries in MMA history, he simply hasn’t been the same fighter.
The former two-division UFC World Champion would be in for quite the payday if this were to come to pass. Though the Irishman has suggested previously that moving up in weight wouldn’t be so difficult for him, and neither would the competition (language NSFW).

Now can they get the details worked out is the question. I think it’s safe to assume Dana White would do everything possible to make this happen.
