The UFC returns to action Saturday evening with UFC on ESPN 11 at its Las Vegas Apex facility. The event is scheduled to open sometime after 5 p.m. and close with heavyweight contenders Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov facing off in the main event. The main card is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
The second to last fight of the night features feather weight contenders Josh Emmett and Shane Burgos. UFC ranks Emmett No. 8 in the division and Burgos No. 10.
Emmett enters the fight 15-2 with six wins by KO or KO and two submissions. He last fought 11 months ago, when he defeated Mirsad Bektic via first round TKO at UFC Fight Night 155. Prior to that he knocked out Michael Johnson in the third round at UFC on ESPN 2, and before that he lost via second round knockout to Jeremy Stephens at UFC on FOX 28.
Burgos enters the fight 13-1 with five victories by way of KO or TKO and five via submission. He is on a three-fight win streak, capped by a third-round TKO victory over Makwan Amirkhani last November at UFC 244. His last loss was a third-round TKO defeat to Calvin Kattat at UFC 220 in January of 2018.
