The UFC is in Las Vegas for one more event before departing for Abu Dhabi and Fight Island. This Saturday, June 27th, UFC on ESPN 12 airs from the organization’s Apex facility. The main card includes a heavyweight bout between Gian Villante and Maurice Greene.
Greene enters the 8-4 and coming off two straight losses. He lost via second round submission to Alexey Oleynik at UFC 246 in January, and to Sergei Pavlovich via first round TKO at UFC Fight Night 162 in October.
Nonetheless, Greene enters as a betting favorite against Villante, who is a more well-worn veteran. Villante is 17-11 and has been unable to string together two straight wins since early 2015. He’s coming off a first round TKO loss to Michael Oleksiejczuk at UFC Fight Night 145 a year ago February. He fought three times in 2018, but has been inactive for some time now after pulling out of a fight against Mike Rodriguez last July.
Weigh-in update: Gian Villante weighed in at 255 pounds, while Maurice Greene weighed in at 255 pounds.
