UFC is headed to Abu Dhabi and “Fight Island” in a couple weeks, but before then, they have one more event at the Las Vegas Apex facility. This Saturday, June 27th, UFC on ESPN 12 goes down, starting at 5 p.m. The top of the preliminary card features a lightweight bout between Luis Pena and Khama Worthy.
Pena enters the fight with an 8-2 record and coming off a unanimous decision win over Steve Garcia at UFC Fight Night 169. He only landed 27 significant strikes over the three rounds, but it was enough. The 6’3, 155 pound fighter makes lanky an understatement. The most important thing to know about Pena? He has the best nickname in UFC: “Violent Bob Ross”.
Worthy enters the fight with a 15-6 record and in the midst of a six-fight win streak. The most recent was a first round TKO of Devonte Smith last August at UFC 241 in his UFC debut. Worth was scheduled to fight Michael Johnson at UFC 249 in April, but that was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Weigh-in update: Luis Pena weighed in at 155 pounds. Khama Worthy weighed in at 154.5 pounds.
