The UFC returns on Saturday, June 6th. UFC 250 gets underway at 6:00 p.m. ET in Las Vegas, Nevada at the UFC Apex facility. The entire preliminary card of the PPV event will air on ESPN+, with the early preliminary fights also UFC Fight Pass and the regular prelims also on ESPN. The UFC Fight Pass prelims will also simulcast on UFC Fight Pass and ESPN Deportes.
The main event of UFC 250 features Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer fighting for the women’s featherweight championship. Nunes holds both the bantamweight and featherweight titles, and is the first woman to defend in two weight classes in UFC history. She faces the 8-1 Spencer, who has stoppage power but enters as a big underdog.
In a battle of bantamweights #5 Raphael Assuncao takes on #9 Cody Garbrandt in a duel of a veteran against a former rising up-and-comer in need of a win. Assuncao is 27-7 at age 37, and looking to get one last shot at a title. Garbrandt was 11-0, but has dropped three straight via stoppage and hasn’t had a win since December of 2016. He needs this to get his career back on track.
Cory Sandhagen faces Aljamain Sterling in what is a de facto bantamweight eliminator for Henry Cejudo’s now-vacant belt. Sandhagen is ranked #5 with a 12-1 record and 5-0 in the UFC, but the #2-ranked Sterling is 18-3 and has the more impressive resume. Both of these fighters are more complete, and have as many decision wins as stoppages. This could be a more technical clinic showing all disciplines within MMA.
Neil Magny vs. Anthony Rocco Martin pits a pair of veteran welterweights looking to enter the division’s Top 15. Martin has won five of six, but has seen the third round in his last 10 fights. Magny has won three of four, and has 10 stoppages with his 22-7 career record.
