UFC 250 gets underway this Saturday at 6 p.m. ET, and it is the first PPV at the organization’s Apex facility in Las Vegas since before the pandemic shut down business. The early preliminary card gets started just after 6 p.m. on ESPN, the preliminary card gets underway at approximately 8 p.m., and the main card will air on ESPN+ as a PPV. The main event of the evening features Amanda Nunes defending her featherweight championship against Felicia Spencer.
The early preliminary card is highlighted by a flyweight contenders bout between Jussier Formiga and Alex Perez. Both fighters have 23 wins, and Perez is a slight favorite coming off two straight victories.
Perez is 23-5 and coming off a submission win this past June over Jordan Espinosa at UFC Fight Night 166. Prior to that he won a unanimous decision over Mark De La Rosa in March 2019 at UFC on ESPN 2. He is currently averaging 4.48 significant strikes per minute, while absorbing 3.18.
Formiga is 23-7 and coming off a unanimous decision loss to Brandon Moreno at UFC Fight Night 170 this past March. In June of 2019 he lost via TKO to Joseph Benavidez at UFC on ESPN 3. He is currently averaging 1.38 significant strikes per minute, while absorbing 2.23.
