UFC is in Abu Dhabi for the next two weeks hosting four events at Fight Island. The series get started on Saturday, July 11th with the UFC 251 PPV. The 13-fight card features championships on the line, and a huge women’s contenders bout. The early prelims get started at 6 p.m. on UFC Fight Pass, and the main card gets going at 10 p.m. on ESPN+.
On the preliminary card two welterweights slug it out when Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos and Muslim Salikhov face off looking for a spot in the UFC rankings. Zaleski dos Santos has a 22-6 MMA record, and is 8-2 in a UFC octagon. He lost his first fight in 3.5 years to Jingliang Li last August, but backed it up with a decision win over Alexey Kunchenko at the last UFC card before Covid-19.
Salikhov is Russian and goes by the nickname “King of Kung Fu.” The former Wushu Sanda world champion has a 16-2 MMA record at age 36, with 12 KO’s and two submission wins. He enters as the favorite with his 3-1 UFC record that includes three straight wins.
