Two Top-10 ranked women’s flyweights are the co-main event at UFC Fight Night this Saturday as Joanne Calderwood duels with Jennifer Maia live from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas.

The #3-ranked Calderwood wants a shot at Valentina Shevchenko and the title, as the Scottish “Jojo” is 14-4 in MMA, with a UFC record of 6-4. One of the most active fighters in the UFC, she lands 6.19 significant strikes per minute with 47% accuracy, and also averages 1.85 takedowns per bout. There’s not a ton of stoppage power with her having only five KO’s and one submission in her career.

Maia owns a 17-6-1 record with a UFC mark of 2-2, but is ranked #6 in the division due to the quality of her competition so far. All four of her fights since reaching the promotion have gone the distance, including her loss to Katlyn Chookagian, the only common opponent between her and Calderwood. She lands 4.05 strikes per minute, but has only attempted one takedown in the promotion in her 60 minutes of fight time. She also had missed weight in her two previous fights to this one.

Here are the betting odds at DraftKings Sportsbook for Joanne Calderwood vs. Jennifer Maia at UFC Fight Night from Las Vegas on August 1st.

Betting splits

Joanne Calderwood: -162 (46% of action, 74% of bets)
Jennifer Maia: +130 (54% of action, 26% of bets)

Here are the DraftKings DFS salaries for Joanne Calderwood vs. Jennifer Maia tonight:

DraftKings DFS Salaries

Joanne Calderwood: $8,700
Jennifer Maia: $7,500

Calderwood is a dream for DFS players because of how she fights, as indicated by her 75 DFS points per UFC outing despite the lack of stopping power. But Maia made weight and came in 1.5 pounds under the limit, and looked good doing it for the first time in awhile.

Even if this fight goes the distance, Calderwood can still score enough to be worthwhile to your roster. We’ll have her in the mix on our rosters tonight for sure.
