Everything you need to know for Ashley Yoder vs. Livinha Souza at UFC 252

UFC is back for its latest PPV, this time back in the United States. A month removed from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, UFC 252 will take place on August 15th at the company’s APEX facility in Las Vegas. The card features a massive heavyweight title main event, and opens at 7 p.m. with the early preliminary card. The PPV will air on ESPN+.

The first fight on the preliminary card is a women’s strawweight bout between Ashley Yoder and Livinha Souza. Souza enters the fight as a -162 favorite, while Yoder is installed at +130. We’ve seen no movement on the line.

Yoder, nicknamed “The Spider Monkey,” is 7-5 with four wins by submission and three by decision. She has struggled in UFC, with a 2-4 record, including a split decision loss in her last bout against Randa Markos at UFC Fight Night 162 in October.

Souza, nicknamed “The Brazilian Gangster,” is 13-2 with eight wins coming by submission and two by KO or TKO. She is making her PPV debut after losing a unanimous decision to Brianna Van Buren in July 2019 at UFC Fight Night 155. She was scheduled to fight last December, but withdrew due to a back injury.
