UPDATE 2:50 pm: Below we’ve added bet splits for the method of victory for Hubbard vs. Solecki tonight.
A pair of lightweights looking for the rankings soon will face off on the preliminary card at UFC Fight Night Saturday night as Austin Hubbard fights Joe Solecki live on ESPN+.
“Thud” Hubbard is 12-4, 2-2 in the UFC, but his last bout was more memorable for his opponent Max Rohskopf quitting on his stool after having to convince his coaches he didn’t want to continue. It was Hubbard’s first UFC first stoppage, though he has seven finishes in his career (five KO’s, two submissions). He’s averaged 3.53 strikes per minute and 0.82 takedowns per 15 minutes in his four bouts, and is 28-year-old with Elevation Fight Team in Denver.
Solecki is 9-2 and won his way to a contract via Dana White’s Contender Series, and won his debut on the main roster over Matt Wiman via unanimous decision in December, dominating that fight with a significant strike advantage of 56-10 and a 4-0 edge on takedowns. The 26-year-old from Wenonah, New Jersey has a KO and six submission finishes on his resume, mostly from the Cage Fighting Fury Championships.
