Two women’s bantamweights looking for a shot at one of Amanda Nunes’ two championship belts step in the octagon on Saturday as Yana Kunitskaya fights Julija Stoliarenko at UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ live from Las Vegas.
Kunitskaya is ranked #8 in the division with a 12-5 record, 2-2 in the UFC. The Russian has eight career stoppages, seven of them by knockout, landing 5.05 strikes per minute while in the octagon and 2.39 takedowns per 15 minutes with a 53% accuracy. Her stats should favor DFS players, especially as the favorite in the matchup.
Stoliarenko is 9-3-2, but has won five straight fights mostly on the King of Kings and Invicta circuits. Eight of her career wins are by submission, with her loss to Leah Letson in the Ultimate Fighter finale of November 2018 is her last defeat. the 27-year-old from Lithuania hasn’t been stopped since March of 2015, but steps in here as a replacement fighter after Ketlen Vieira was forced to withdraw. She has fought as a replacement once before in 2018, a decision loss.
