Two bantamweights will open UFC Fight Night this Saturday when Irwin Rivera takes on Ali Alqaisi live from Las Vegas on ESPN+ from the UFC Apex facility.

Rivera is 9-5 as an MMA fighter, and lost his only UFC contest so far in a unanimous decision to Giga Chikadze on May 16th. In that fight he landed 34 significant strikes but took 61 and the only takedown of the bout belonged to his opponent. He has six stoppage wins on the independent circuit, most recently competing in the Legacy Fighting Alliance before joining the big league promotion.

Alqaisi is the first fighter from Jordan to be signed by Dana White, and is 8-3 on the independent circuit with five stoppages. “The Royal Fighter” is on a five-bout win streak, and his last three wins were in the Brave Cage Fighting promotion. At 5’8 he’ll have a bit of a reach advantage on his 5’6 opponent.

Here are the betting odds at DraftKings Sportsbook for Irwin Rivera vs. Ali AlQaisi at UFC Fight Night from Las Vegas on August 8th.

Betting splits

Irwin Rivera: -186 (68% of action, 71% of bets)
Ali AlQaisi: +148 (32% of action, 29% of bets)

Here are the DraftKings DFS salaries for Irwin Rivera vs. Ali AlQaisi tonight:

DraftKings DFS Salaries

Irwin Rivera: $8,900
Ali AlQaisi: $7,300

Rivera is being priced as someone that’s been through the full UFC fight week promotion and fight night operations before. Whether that’s enough of an advantage here is unknown. Neither of these fighters has overwhelmed on the indies, and Rivera somehow went the distance in his last fight but only scored 17 points. Avoid this one altogether.
