After a successful first event last weekend on ESPN+ and ABC, UFC is back at Fight Island in the United Arab Emirates for its first PPV of the new year. On Saturday night, UFC 257: McGregor vs. Poirier 2 will be televised on ESPN+ PPV.
The early preliminary card starts at 6:15 p.m. ET, followed by the preliminary card starting at 8 p.m. The five-fight main card gets going at approximately 10 p.m. ET.
This is the second time that Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will be facing off against each other inside the octagon. The first time they fought at UFC 178 in June 2014, McGregor defeated Poirier by technical knockout in Round 1. McGregor enters the Fight Island with a record of 22-4, while ranked 13th in the pound-for-pound rankings and fourth in the lightweight rankings.
Meanwhile, Poirier has a record of 26-6 (1 NC) and is ranked seventh in the pound-for-pound rankings. He’s also ranked second in the lightweight division. The other fights on the main card are Dan Hooker vs. Michael Chandler (lightweight), Jessica Eye vs. Joanne Calderwood (women’s flyweight), Matt Frevola vs. Ottman Azaitar (lightweight), and Marina Rodriguez vs. Amanda Ribas (women’s strawweight).
