Opening odds for UFC 261: Usman vs. Masvidal full card

The revenge fight of the 2021 is here, as Jorge Masvidal takes on Kamaru Usman for the welterweight championship on Saturday night in Jacksonville.

The first full UFC show of the 2021 season with a crowd will happen this Saturday night in Jacksonville as UFC 261 comes to the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

The main event is a rematch of welterweight champion Kamaru Usman against wild card Jorge Masvidal for the 170 lb. strap. Usman is 18-1 in the UFC, and defeated Masvidal by unanimous decision in their last bout on July 11th on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi. But Masvidal took that fight on extremely short notice, and did about a 20-pound weight cut in under 10 days to make the fight happen. Will “Gamebred” be ready for the foot stomps of Usman, as well as the conditioning needed, with a longer camp?

There are two other championship fights on the card, as the 21-1 women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili faces 10-4 Rose Namajunas for the title at 115 lbs. Weili hasn’t lost since her MMA debut in 2013, and is a massive favorite over the best that the UFC has to offer at the limited weight class. Namajunas has fought Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Jessica Andrade twice each in her last four fights, picking up wins in three of them.

The third title fight on the card is flyweight champ Valentina Shevchenko taking on Jessica Andrade for her belt at 125 lbs. Shevchenko has cleaned out her division, winning six in a row since falling to double-champ Amanda Nunes in September of 2017. Andrade enters with a career record of 21-8, but losses in two of her last three bouts. The shallow nature of the women’s divisions gives her a shot here however, but she’ll be a big underdog to bring home the title.
