UFC Fight Night is back on ESPN+ this Saturday, with a huge 14-fight card capped by a heavyweight main event featuring No. 6 Jairzinho Rozenstruik taking on No. 9 Augusto Sakai live on ESPN+.
Rozenstruik is 11-2 career, but has lost two of his last three fights. His loss to heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in May of 2020 is understandable, and he also fell to No. 3 Cyril Gane in February of this year. The big man needs a win here to stay in contact with the contenders at 265 lbs.
Sakai comes to the octagon with a record of 15-2-1, and had won four in a row as a UFC competitor before his loss to legend Alistair Overeem in September of 2020 via fifth-round TKO. The Curtiba, Brazil native has 11 KO/TKO’s himself in 15 victories.
Also the co-main event is at heavyweight as well, with No. 8 Walt Harris taking on No. 11 Marcin Tybura. Harris is 13-9 career, with losses to Alexander Volkov and Alistair Overeem in his only bouts of 2020. Tybura is on a four-fight winning streak to bring his career mark to 21-6 with 14 stoppages. The Polish puncher last competed in December of 2020, TKO’ing Greg Hardy in the second round.
There are six fights on the main card starting at 7:00 p.m. ET, and eight on the preliminary card that kicks off at 4:00 p.m. ET. The fights above are the only ranked competitors involved in the octagon action on Saturday.
